Markham Aquarium 2 U — Attraction in Markham

I have been to this store exactly 3 times, each time hoping they would improve. First off they don't speak much English or employ anyone who does. Having said that, any question you ask, they just stand and smile saying "it's a good one". I would never ever buy corals from them, the tank corals are in are full of algae of all kinds, they don't seem to take care of their reef tank at all. Last time I was there I questioned about the corals with algae, she said "it's OK , its good" huh! ... Most of the time they do not get lot of salt-water fish, even when they do its over priced, example hippo tank she was asking $75 (it was on its belly flat, she said "now sleeping"), you can get healthy one for $30 in GTA. when I asked why price so hight, she replied "people say..my price good...better then white people store", I don't know who those people are or why they are encouraging such hight price. Far as the equipment go, its all china made, even the instructions are written in Chinese, you kinda have to YouTube to figure out its functions. I bought filter and heater from them, filter is doing OK, I am using it as a backup. As for the heater, it broke the first time , then they replaced it with another and when I put it in water it gave me an electric shock, yes it shocked me, but thankfully it was in a sump, all my live stock were fine as I removed it instantly. All in all I would never shop there, as we all know we invest lot of money into this hobby, nobody wants to bring algae or sick fish home. I would stay away. If anyone from the store is reading this, I suggest you employ some one who can speak English and help customers with their needs and please please please find help to maintain and clean your tanks, its not OK to buy any corals from a tank filled with algae. in the last week-Edit GREAT Fish store Many fish you cant find any were else and reasonable prices their English is fine Markam Aquarium is 10X better store than ANY Big Als who charge more for their fish than ANY OTHER Aquarium stores Big als tanks are ALL Over crowed and Filthy BigAals is a Good store for wankers ,who know nothing about fish ASK ANY Experienced Fish keeper EVERY One will tell You""STAY AWAY from Big als, there are many other 5* fish stores(Fish Finatics) BIG ALS is NOT one of them .,their staff are completely "Unknowable school boys who know nothing more than cleaning tanks but Know NOTHING about fish you and often you see fish floating on their backs,there the people who are criticizing this shop know NOTHING about Good fish stores Big Als have the dirtiest Over crowed tanks of ANY other Aquarium stores and further more... what dose their English have ANY Thing to do with their fish and their prices ??NOTHING thats what! their English is fine i say shop there with confidence your getting Good Healthy fish at far lower price...

Terrible uneducated employees who do not seem to know much about their live stock. Even though the English was bad, any questions I asked were answered with "it's good" I could barely get a sentence from them about any item or live stock.

I bought some plants, I got a reasonable price for them which is why I'm giving them two stars. I would not recommend going there unless you speak Mandarin, or have a friend go with you that can translate you might have better luck.

Over all, the store is somewhat clean, organized and it's easy to navigate through the site to find what you're looking for. Just beware of cheap products that seem over priced and will most likely break.

They do carry some big band name products. They look to be carrying a longer shelf life then they actually sell. Some items were actually damaged and the prices are marked as new. At that point when I asked about the damage the Employee said 'is good' I literally put my hands up and cashed my plants...
