Douro Bakery — Restaurant in Toronto

Very nice Portuguese bakery and deli with a dine-in setting. I ordered a tuna sandwich and Americano and was extremely impressed. Tuna sandwich was well-made, big bread slice, lots of lettuce, good cuts of cheese, and well-seasoned tuna spread. This was huge and kept me full for the entire day.

The Americano in a cup was excellent as well, in oar with what you'd taste in Belgium at a café.

The store had other great cakes, pastries, and breads as well. Their breads on display are golden-brown and huge. The caramelich is tempting and I will get it next time.

Service is top-notch. They do not bum for tips and they bring the food right to your table.

And their interior is nice and tidy. Dining surfaces are spotless, the furniture is new, and the decor is inspiring.

This is real food, and I wish there were more places like this around.

The quality of food and service I experienced was so amazing that I will be coming back for more, and I recommend people visit places like this instead of Tim Hortons or other garbage...

Passed by Duoro for a quick coffee and I couldn't resist trying out a couple croquettes! My go to are cod and shrimp and these did not disappoint.

The cod is browned a bit more but it works so well with the fish. The seasoning is simple but fits the cod just right.

The shrimp croquette is always a bit on the creamy side and this one is fits the bill. It's not too sweet like others I've tried, which is great! A couple shrimp in there too which makes for a nice two bite treat.

I liked that these were not too greasy either.

Also had the espresso. Nothing to say here other than good Portuguese style espresso - bitter, 'thick' in texture and bitter.

I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area. The folks here...

This bakery just opened up on Monday and I think I've been there once a day already. First of all, the location is convenient and there is a great amount of free parking available on site. The hours of operation are perfect. 5:30-7 makes it available for everyone to make it there during their busy days. The selection of fresh pastries and bread is amazing. So much to choose from, I often have difficulty deciding upon what to get! Their nata is 5 stars. Most bakeries have underwhelming natas, but these are worth it. The staff are always so very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. The service is very quick and efficient as well....
