BEWARE: This location makes up prices. Cashier tried to charge me $46 for suya and plantain lmao! Almost $50! Their large suya is $25 and apparently their large plantain is $12 (overpriced), but yet the cashier tried charging me $46. I caught it and brought it up to her attention and then she responded that the machine was programmed to charge $15 for a large plantain and then she changed the amount to $41.. which still didn’t make sense because $25 suya + $12 plantain doesn’t equal to $41.00. It was late at night and was too tired to address this $41 amount at the time, so I followed up the next day. I called the restaurant and the same cashier picked up and I asked how much a small and large plantain cost to which she said $5 for small plantain and $12 for large. I informed her that she had overcharged me on my order and returned to the restaurant to get my refund. I addressed the inconsistency of cost with the owner. SUPER unprofessional establishment. The restaurant is filthy. The tables are dirty, seats are dirty, the menu doesn’t have everything so they make up prices as they go. The cashier/waiter needs to work on her customer service skills and knowing how to talk to customers..Customers are not your friend! Customers are not from the block. Imagine how many other customers they have overcharged?! Make sure yall check the prices before paying. They also make up prices especially if they assume that you’re...
Read moreI’ve been ordering food from the Suya spot in Scarborough without any complaints but this Suya spot in western road is a huge turn off and bad experience for me both in taste of food and quality. I’m not one to give a bad reviews to businesses but see this as an honest review and work out something if this is a franchise location. I ordered food from the Suya spot on Uber eat while in downtown and I was directed to this one as the closest. Being of the fact that I’ve never had any complaints with the Suya spot in Scarborough, I felt it would be same as this location. Picked my orders and paid then waited for arrival, first disappointment was them having coconut water as available only to be shown not available after ordering and was asked to pick something else which I did. Waited for the order to be delivered, only to be shocked with different package from what I knew was. A shocker, the quality of food was nothing to write home about. Like it was as if I ordered from a different restaurant that is not the Suya spot, the Suya at-least tasted nice to calm my anger but still small quantities and quality for over charging people with the same price as other Suya spot then shock them with a different taste and size altogether. Would not be patronizing this particular store. Kindly improve, first attempt wasn’t...
Read moreThis was my first time experiencing Nigerian food, and I couldn’t have picked a better place than The Suya Spot! I had heard great things about them, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. Everything I tried was incredible—from the perfectly seasoned Suya to the fluffy and flavorful Jollof rice. I sampled a variety of dishes, and every single one was delicious.
The portions were very generous, so I even got to take some home, and it reheated beautifully. If you’ve never had Nigerian food before, especially if you’re African like me and haven’t explored it yet, this is the perfect place to start. The flavors, the atmosphere, and the experience were all...
