This is hands down the best coffee I've had in the city. The staff is wonderful, the food is incredible, and the details they've added to create their identity have been astutely implemented; the hand-made pottery for dish ware, reusable coffee bean containers, colour scheme, all being tied together with the clear Ausie' soul come together to bring an A+ atmosphere and experience... HOWEVER, the one thing that is not there yet, which if changed would make it the GOAT of all coffee shops... STRUDY TABLES!
I've sat at all three seating sections and not one has given me a suitable place to get work on; every table wobbles, either due to un-even ground underneath or the fact the tables are just flimsy and not sturdy. Now, I appreciate that this may be a sneaky way to discourage people from setting up camp and getting a couple hours of work done, but if it has not been a conscious choice, and the owner enjoys having people use this space as a work-space, then investing in some sturdy tables would be a god-send.
Alright, rant over, I still LOVE this place, and consider my self a lucky soul to reside near this...
Read moreI’ve been to Found in both Guelph and Toronto and have never had a good experience with the staff. Today I ordered two different items off the menu since I had never eaten in before and the barista asked me if I was alone and if I was really going to be able to eat all of that food. I thought it maybe was just an off comment - a single piece of toast and a granola bowl didn’t feel like that big of an undertaking, until they proceeded to talk about a patron yesterday who came in and ate two whole avocado toasts and then two cookies alone, and then went on about how crazy that was until I finished paying. I’ll go elsewhere where I won’t be judged for what I decide to order - how absurd of your patrons to want to support your business. The last time my partner was in, the barista made fun of him for ordering a tea latte instead of a coffee.
I’ll probably get some passive aggressive snarky reply judging by the owner’s other responses to any criticism here… we really wanted to like this cafe, the interior is really lovely and so are their ceramics, but we always leave...

Throughout my 40 years on the planet I've had a total of 2 exceptionally memorable cafe made espressos. The first was at Flat White in London, just after they had finished dialing in a new bean and the second was right here at Found. It was a bean from one of my favourite roasters, Seth Taylor and it was incredibly fruit forward and juicy. Blueberries for days with an exquisite mouth feel. DAMN, a real shot for the ages.
I had the avo on toast during my visit too, it was slathered with a real thick layer of avocado - good value and delicious.
The staff are super affable and the barista who served me gets extra bonus points for noticing my Animal Collective shirt :) It's also a beautiful place. The aesthetic here is right up my street, and I couldn't resist picking up a couple of their lovely ceramic espresso cups for home use. To top it off, they stock both Seth Taylor and Hatch beans (for my money the 2 best local roasters).
What a joyous experience. I'll definitely be...
