Loved it! This is one of my most favourite sushi restaurant in all times. My boyfriend and I always come here for special occasions. It's a petite store with simple decor and a nice outdoor area to sit. Not only was the service exceptional, but their sushi is too!
My bf and I started our meal with some appetizers. A sushi pizza (salmon if I remember) and some pieces of salmon, tamago, oyster, and spicy scallop. The sushi pizza was nice and crispy. The fried rice was still hot and the salmon on top with the mayo and roe (there was some vegetable but I don't recall) were delicious. The sushi was amazing. Mouth watery and thick, the sashimi just melted in your mouth. Like any sushi restaurant, the rolls/sashimi/pieces are a little bit pricey, but it was worth it.
Then our main dishes came. He got a beef donburi and I got the chicken teriyaki. Their miso soup were decent and their salad was good (I'm a sucker for vinegary salads). The teriyaki sauce was a bit lacking but the chicken was soft and made up for it (I ended up using a bit of soy sauce). I didn't really asked about the donburi but he said it was decent :)
All in all, the experience was excellent and I fell in love with their sushi. We even got more later and the chef gave us the best part (thank you!) of the salmon. I really do recommend people to come for their sushi since it was absolutely amazing. This family run business was nice and comforting. It was a bit pricey...

You have to wait outside for people ahead of you to ask questions, order for a family of 10, pay for the order, while your food is ready sitting there for 10 minutes. Not an efficient setup. They should bring the food outside while we are waiting since they can see us through the window.
Was disappointed in the quality and what I ordered. Paid for Sushi Dinner (12 pieces), got 6 pieces of Sushi and 6 pieces of salmon maki that wasn't even put together well. The pieces were tiny, falling apart and basically just felt ripped off. Not sure why I got the maki instead of 6 more pieces.
Some fish were dry, octopus was not fresh had to spit it out. I didn't bother eating the rest. Didn't want to take a chance.
On the bright side the salad was fresh and dressing tasted nice. Soup was good.
Will definitely not...
Read moreThis restaurant is probably one of my favourite places in Toronto for Japanese food. If you like a great selection of fresh fishes and a variety of dishes, you should try their omakase.
Their normal menu is cater towards the general population and it's typical of any Japanese restaurant. However, what makes them special is that their highly skilled chef stocks a great variety of fresh and unique tasting fish.
You need to look at their daily specials or ask the chef for their suggestion based on what is in stock. My personal favourite sushi/sashimi/item includes: aji, foie gras on akimo, sword fish, uni, blue fin o-toro, geo-duck, mochi tofu and cucumber roll.
I always come back when I need a fix of quality sushi, dipped in freshly grounded wasabi and great quality soya sauce. Drooling already, as I picture eating my...
