Though I came late for brunch because I had an appointment to get to near Finch subway station afterwards, it doesn't excuse the fact that this place is even worse than Mabu Cafe. I said it once, I'll say it again: Canada in general cannot maintain HK style ice room cafes for long. This place is even smaller narrower to navigate. You're not exactly downtown but you're not quite uptown. You're right in the middle of both and Yonge is quite popular for food places as is. Now, you added this place and it's super stuffy, loud and an extremely displeasing place to be due to the wait staff. This place gave me multiple stomachaches shortly after even as I went to my next appointment after eating here. I was afraid this would happen because I have such a sensitive stomach. Therefore, I don't eat much on a daily basis due to this birth defect. I thought I was the only one that felt this and so I could just solely blame myself, but it turns out my mom and so many other reviewers on here say they've experienced this unfortunate health hazard after immediately eating here. Clearly, something is wrong with your sanitation methods if multiple customers feel food poisoned by this cafe. This place is (like every other ice room opened in Toronto) overly priced for so little food that can be easily recreated at home. It takes longer than normal wait times to even have your food arrive and service is close to none. I want to give everything a 0 but Google reviews doesn't allow that. Also, I read a review somewhere that a customer spent FIVE HOURS in the ER because of an allergic reaction due to cross contamination just because they NONE of the staff could understand English nor do they have any staff trained in English to understand that customer's question. I agree with that reviewer that this place clearly doesn't value its customers and nearly cost a life. I fully support that customer whom said they'd hire a lawyer to sue them. I get that this place, despite it being ridiculously tiny for a cafe- is fast-paced and forever busy, but isn't the point of customer service in the food industry supposed to be properly trained in such high-demanding spaces that you rely on your customers for your business? Therefore, you must pay attention to everything and everyone even though it seems impossible to do? Notice your surroundings and work on your management skills! Hire more staff! I see that this place is severely understaffed in both the kitchen and waiters. Would it kill you to hire more people so this place can get more efficient and that things move in a smoother process instead of having hungry customers frustratingly wait for food that seemingly never comes? Absolute disgrace. 100% do not recommend this place at all. Especially if you're a disabled customer or use mobility aids- don't come here because it is clearly NOT accessible at all. There's no way to get in or out without suffering and (possibly) making a scene. That and if you have food restrictions or allergies. They seem to not be trained in this aspect as they can't understand English. I don't want anyone to lose a life here. Trust me and do...

Hong Kong style cafes, also known as Cha Chaan Teng, are a staple in the food culture of Hong Kong. Known for their fusion of East and West cuisine, these cafes offer a unique and diverse dining experience. From egg tarts and milk tea to savoury toast and noodle dishes, Hong Kong style cafes offer a diverse menu that appeals to a wide range of tastes. With a cozy atmosphere and comfortable seating, these cafes are a perfect place to catch up with friends, enjoy a casual meal, or treat yourself to a sweet dessert.
In Toronto, Good Luck HK Cafe stands out as a premier example of a traditional Hong Kong style cafe. With a menu that features classic dishes such as milk tea and savoury toast, as well as unique and innovative offerings, Good Luck HK Cafe offers a truly authentic and enjoyable dining experience.
On a recent trip to Good Luck HK Cafe, I had the opportunity to dine with my best friend. This was our first time visiting the establishment and we were eager to sample the cuisine. The interior of the restaurant was charming, with a Hong Kong cafe-style vibe that was perfect for capturing memories with my friend. The seating was comfortable and provided a lovely atmosphere for dining. The only drawback was the lack of designated parking, but paid street parking was available in the vicinity.
The menu offered a diverse range of dishes, including traditional Hong Kong-style breakfast items, savoury rice dishes, and delicious pastries. I ordered the Teddy Bear Milk Tea (6.25 CAD), which was not only adorable but also delicious. The tea had a rich and flavorful taste that was enjoyable from start to finish. My friend ordered the Shrimp and Scrambled Eggs on Rice (15.99 CAD), which had a generous portion size but was not quite up to our expectations in terms of taste. I also attempted to order the Molten Salted Egg Yolk French Toast with Pork Floss, but unfortunately, it was sold out for the day. Instead, I opted for the Stuffed Cheese Ground Pork Toast (8.99 CAD) which was nicely seasoned and cheesy, though the bread was not particularly noteworthy.
In conclusion, Good Luck HK Cafe is a great destination for those seeking a taste of traditional Hong Kong-style cuisine in Toronto. The charming atmosphere, friendly staff, and diverse menu make for an enjoyable dining experience. Although the food may not be the best in the city, it is still worth checking out for a taste of something...
Read moreI came here with my friend after seeing so much hype about it on tiktok and friend's stories. We came here for the teddy bear milk tea but we loved for their quality of food and services. My friend and I are very indecisive people, we saw the wide variety of selections and we wanted to try everything, someone who worked there came up and asked if we needed any help. We were so happy to see someone who knows the menu and what's popular to help us. Instead of just telling us what is popular and let us order what that, the server's name is Alex helped us to personalize our choices to our own likings and ultimately I chose something I really loved and so did my friend. We didn't just have something that everybody else liked, we had something we loved, part of it is the quality of the food and menu really is great, but another big part is we had Alex's help. She also then proceeded to once again proactively come up to us when we were choosing desserts to once again help us with our decision. We had conversations through out, felt like it was a personalized experience and the place def lived up to the hype. Btw, I ordered the chicken cutlet in black truffle white sauce with cheese on based rice (HIGHLY SUGGEST!!) and my friend had tomato bake bolognese with cheese and pork cutlet on spaghetti (She also really loved her dish, but I didn't have a try,so not sure) Either way, so many options we haven't tried on the menu, would def go back and hopefully have Alex as my server this time. Ohhhh! Last thing I wanted to note, Alex wasn't even our dedicated serve, and she spent so much time and going out of her way to help us, hoping the manager sees this and recognizes Alex for her...
