GRUB SHACK ( Halal) — Restaurant in Toronto

As my son said it “Best Burger he’s ever had!!!” I should have reviewed The Grub Shack sooner. We went into the Grub Shack on Christmas night 2023. We flew in that day from Vancouver to visit family. After a day of wandering around town and ending back on the Danforth we found ourselves hungry. Thank goodness this was open on Christmas Day. We were greeted very friendly by I’m assuming is the owner. We ordered 3 Shack classic combos and a strawberry milkshake for takeout. We got the food pretty fast. The owner made sure we had everything and wished us a good night. Once we got back and was finally able to dig in we were very happy with what we got. The fries were crispy which is a definite plus. The burger was seasoned very well. My son said it was the Best burger he’s had. We’ve had a burger at another popular place on the Danforth but hands down the Grub Shack was far better. They jack up the price of individual items on DoorDash / UberEats etc. to make you feel like you're getting a deal with their BOGO offers. So one of your chicken sandwiches / burgers is regular $18? That is outrageous. And how come all the other sandwiches (which should be more expensive) are less than $18? Seeing this crap more and more.

Ill take down this review if you can explain why your "Shacks Classic" Burger is more money than the "Mighty and Cheesy" which has 2 patties and bacon?

Or how about why your 6 Wings BOGO offer is $18 but you have a 10 wing meal that is $18? Puzzling for sure... its almost like you jacked the price up of 6 wings.

The "deals" you have are not BOGO, therefore it's a lie. It's more like "Save $5 on Two Overpriced Sandwiches" or "Buy 10 Wings, Get 2 Free"

Again, if you can convince me that I'm wrong, I'll take this down but I'm quite certain I did not...

There's nothing grubby about Grub Shack, with its bright and colourful interiors and it's inventive and extensive menu. Stopped by for lunch and got: Cheesy One burger with side onion rings: The patty was a bit thin/flat though tasty. The standouts were the mozzarella cheese sticks and that shack sauce that gave the burger a bit of heat. Side onion rings were a bit tiny though still had a nice sweetness to them. Chocolate Brownie Milkshake: Loved this! Good balance of thickness and smoothness, and the bits of brownie were a nice touch.

Owners were welcoming, lovely and quick on the grill. Space is clean, well laid out, and has a vibrant colour. Bonus points for serving halal. Overall, Grub Shack...
