First let me say, this is my go to place when it just opened, and I have continued to go up to yesterday I was there. However I will say the food quality and customer service and standards have dropped tremendously. I always buy the Hominy corn/peanut mix, Plantain and Banana as those are the only porridges I eat. I sometimes buy the red peas soup as I’m not a big soup person. However my experience the times have been here in the last few visits have not been great, the porridge is either lacking spices or is too sweet and the customer service is lacking. Upon entering the store on a Saturday afternoon, the cashier had just cashed a customer who paid with cash and was wearing gloves. She then proceeded to ask what I would like, I asked her to change the gloves because she just cashed a customer out and didn’t change the gloves, she looked me dead straight in the eye and said she wasn’t gonna change the gloves as she is the only staff working and wouldn’t be touching the food so there’s no need to. Without even arguing with her, I just told her I won’t be needing anything anymore, and she didn’t care that a customer was walking out the door. People please wash your hands especially when working in a food establishment it’s not if you feel like , it’s a must. As for the gloves they can cause more harm than good as it’s easier to have cross contamination happening. I support black businesses always and never will stop. Just please use this opportunity to do some...

It was my friend's birthday and we wanted Souperlicious. We got there and ordered our food. After we ordered, we felt inspired to sit down and eat. Especially since it's our friend's birthday. We asked the staff to clean the table and was asked "which table?" So we pointed to the one by the window which was clearly used before by someone else and dirty. The employee told us we cannot sit there because this place is not a dinning restaurant. We said really then, "why is it dirty and why are there bar stools and high tables. This doesn't make sense." The other employee responded and said "because if the inspector comes and see anyone sitting there we'd be in trouble." I said, wow, I'm the customer and I need to worry about your inspector. That's not my business. So just we opted to go into the car to eat instead. Thankfully, we were driving. Imagine if we took the bus. Disappointment was not the word. I wish there was more education surrounding customer service in establishments such as these. It was a simple thing. All we asked was please clean the table. If there was a -1 that would be my review rating. If you look even on Google Business online here, the options they have are dinning, takeout, delivery. We'll never go back to this...

I visited this spot about 3 weeks ago. Food was 10/10 amazing , what I wanted they didn’t have but none the less the food was on point. I am rating this place 3/5 stars because of the service. The young black man had an accent and I couldn’t understand him and when I asked him to say it again he gave me the most attitude ever and rolled his eyes , him and another young girl with silver hoop earrings were giving not only myself attitude, but other customers attitude and were also laughing and talking about people right in front of them and as they walked out the door ! So unprofessional and rude ... customer service is one of the most important things in running a business. The owner was very friendly and thanked us for coming by, minus the rude staff the food...

The Red pea soup w/Oxtail is off the hook! Ive been searching for authentic tasting red pea soup and this is it! I read the other reviews and the main concern was the amount of boiled dumplings and oxtail in the soup. I have to agree- the dumplings for a large soup- needs to be at least 4. They only give 2 dumplings per soup (sometimes one) - the amount of oxtail isnt bad. I mean.. its a soup so Im not expecting the whole thing to be full of meat but more of everything would be better. Especially for returning costumers:-) . The red peas r soo good im ordering more today. I hope this location takes the costumers advice into consideration 🙏. Ill be trying the bowls soon but they seem to always be sold out on Skip the Dishes. No bueno.

It is a tiny Jamaican take-out soup kitchen that also serves porridge, dumplings, festivals, protein bowls and patties. They sell in two sizes which are priced fairly! Variety of soups include oxtail, chicken, corn, goat, seafood, thai chicken and one or two others. The porridges that they offer include hominy corn, peanut, cornmeal & banana. When they first opened, portion elements & consistency were great. Now, after a year or so (?), they seem to be skimping on some of the dishes. I.e: 1-2 small pcs of protein in an entire soup! But the flavour is still good.
