The chef is very genuine in his goal to "make the most beautiful sushi". I appreciated his integrity in his craft and his dishes were very delicious 👌 since it was slow when we got there, we were able to talk with him about the design and he shared a nice story of the dragon on our plate and the heart. Great vibes from him.
The staff seemed new to serving but doing his best. I say this because I have been a server before and noticed that he would place dishes awkwardly on the table (given how beautiful they are, gracefully presenting it at the table actually matters. I'm aware the plate is heavier than normal, so in this case, you'd need to use both hands to bring it down flat and slowly, and then turning it) and he didn't remove the dinner plate so we had that on the table when receiving dessert. *A small note as well, was that the cup smelled a little chemically so make sure to check before serving (or drinking). Just little things but I'm sure they'll get better over time as they read and respond to their reviews 👍🏼
It was honestly a very pleasant experience and you should meet the chef,...
Read morePlease like and follow. We went to Jyugoya just based on Google recommendations and since it was close to us. The place is nestled between two big food chains, which we didn't care for. The restaurant has an outdoors setting overlooking Bayview Street, perfect for people watching minus the people traffic. The inside decor is simple , clean, and tasty. ( check the pictures) The service is provided by the owner, who is very nice and extremely helpful. The food: The mizo shop is as expectedly warm and delicious. The gyozas were fried, crunchy, and delicious. I ordered the chicken tiryaki Bento box, and my company ordered the dragon roll. The bento box came with mizo soup and salad, which were tasty and fresh. I have to high the chicken teriyaki was prepared with chicken breast and was not dredging in the sauce. There were plenty of tempura to go around, almost 8 pieces, rice, rolls, and sesame balls. Everything was prepared carefully and delicious. The dragon roll was also very delicious. I highly recommend this place. I will come back and...
Read moreI just had an incredible dinner with my family at Jyugoya. We were told this place was opening right at Millwood and Bayview, so we wanted to give it a try. As soon as we entered the restaurant the staff greater us. They were super friendly and told us that this was their first day open.
Yi, one of the owners, seated us and went over the menu. My wife is a vegetarian and always has a few special requests. We ordered a tuna hand roll and some fried tofu as apps.
My wife is particular with her tofu really enjoyed the vegetarian garden roll (I am terrible with remembering the actual names) with sweet tofu and yams.
I tried the beef Udon. The noodles were perfect, and the beef broth was delicious. You could tell the chef took pride in everything that came out of the kitchen. He even came over to our table to ask for our feedback and told us a bit about himself.
We had a great experience, delicious food, and friendly service. We are already planning to come back for our next date night and suggest you...
