My friend and I walked in and really enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere. We were planning on making it a regular stopping and the delicious coffee definitely helped. We both ordered a sandwich and when my friend dropped hers on the floor, it opened up and the sauce and sandwich was all over the floor, she was really upset. I picked the sandwich up, wiped the floor with some napkins and when we asked if we could a replacement we were dismissed and told if we really wanted we would have to buy another sandwich. There was no caring or sympathy, there was no attempt to try to fix anything. We are aware that it isn't their fault but even a discount code or some faked sympathy would have gone a long way. I wouldn't feel comfortable coming back to a place that couldn't do the basic customer service standard of attempting to replace or even partially replace a fallen sandwich. Over 15 minuets later the sandwich is still sitting untouched on the counter. Overall, wish the customer service matched the cute calming aesthetic....

The moment I walked into Lit for the first time , just before Christmas last year, I was met with a feeling best described as comfort. The room itself, with it’s beautiful marble communal table, the scent of freshly baked brownies and the smiles on the faces of the baristas, made me realize that I would be spending a lot of time in this place. And I have. You will find me in my ā€˜office’ pretty much daily. Lit has become my happy place. The staff is magnificent and I compliment Parm often on the skill of his hiring practices. I have learned much of the traditions, culture and foods of the many countries that the employees call home. It’s difficult to recognize all of the awesome people I have met there but I have to mention Mahtab, Tara, Maz - now on a new adventure in Vancouver, Olivia, Claire and the best baker in town Catherine. I love this place and I know you will as well. Oh, forgot to mention, the coffee’s...

Absolutely love this cafĆ©! I started working not too far from the location last year and it has quickly become a staple for me. Their sandwich selection is top tier. As a vegetarian i often find it difficult to find a good lunch option as most cafĆ©s are riddled with meat but their grilled caprese is chef’s kiss! Their baked goods are all baked fresh in house and it shows. But above all the service is made great by their awesome staff. Tarah in particular always makes my day! Her warm smile and inviting energy changes my mood even before I receive my espresso for the day, which says a lot! She is kind, curious, and always goes the extra mile to make my visit a lovely one. Visiting this cafĆ© is always the highlight of my work day, I recommend it to everyone...

Vister from BC and dying for excellent brew. Went in terribly excited for a fabulous espresso but was rebuffed from the start by service staff that weren't as excited about coffee as I was. That always puts a damper on things as coffee should be a shared experience, with enthusiasm exchange between barriassta to customer and back. A request for hot water on the side for my Americano was greeted with a quizzical eye roll between staff. Fuh. Just lame. Coffee is OK, but this shop isn't going in my best espresso tourist list.

I have said this before and I will say it again. There is something magical and comforting about a local cafe. You can instantly tell the cohesiveness and vibe of a neighbourhood by glazing through the windows of the local cafe. The community vibe here is strong and prevalent. Everyone respects and supports a local mom and pop business. Especially one that offers drinks and food which can be considered top shelf !!! Go out and support your local -community cafes and businesses. Happy eats everyone šŸ˜Ž
