Horrible service. I ordered the Golden Dragon, which has both salmon and eel on the top. After eating a couple pieces, I noticed the roll was missing the eel. I clarified with the waitress, Emma (or Enma? Couldn't catch it very well), and she verified that it should have both salmon and eel, but went to the back to verify with the chef. They argued that they put the eel in the first couple pieces I ate, while the salmon would be in the other half. She offered to add the eel to the rest of the rolls, and I agreed. When she came back, she said the chef was adamant that the first preparation was right, to which she agreed and told me that I "must have been confused", but she gave me a small sliver of eel on the side as consolation. I thanked her for her efforts, not wanting to bother her anymore. A couple minutes later, I overhear her telling another customer that "customers were being very difficult". Throughout the whole 30+ minutes of us waiting for our food, I never heard anyone else complain (and the restaurant was quite empty), so I assume she was referring to me. I find it so odd that it's so difficult for them to just add salmon and eel on top in the first place? Why bother with the 70/30 weird ratio? I felt quite ridiculed by the service, would not recommend the Golden Dragon at the very least.
Edit: Interesting response from the restaurant. The roll was, at the very least advertised on their menu, to have BOTH salmon and eel on top on ALL pieces, not 4 pieces having salmon and 2 having eel. Take their response as a show of their...
Read moreI decided to dine in. I found out that they don't do dine-in until 11 am (which there isn't a notice anywhere). It's a very small place, there's about 3 tables with bench seating. The chairs were stacked in the corner. You can see the bathroom (for one person) just across the tables. The table I got was kind of dirty, there were some crumbs on it, and the floor was dirty as well from footprints and some dust. The sushi was lovely though, hence I'm still giving it 4 stars. Was given a glass of tap water, but I wanted tea. Asked for tea, and the lady there made some for me. During my visit, there were lots of people going in and out for delivery and dropping off shipments. That particular day (Tuesday), a guy dropped off at least 10 huge boxes of takeout containers and they were sitting in the front of the restaurant, just across the tables. At one point another delivery man propped the door open and it was a bit cold for a while. I don't recommend dine-in if you want a nice atmosphere and restaurant experience. No wonder there was a lot of takeout delivery going on. Also ordered a veggie platter to take home with me. I've had takeout from them before, and the platter (Maki platter B) I got that time...
Read moreI like Kibo’s food. Had my first experience in downtown location and ever since I have been recommending their sushi to all my friends. Being a vegetarian I get pretty good options by them. But had a bad experience from this location from one of the staff. this was my second time going to this location with my friend. We were hungry and wanted some good sushi to eat and it was almost 9 pm at the time. The lady didn’t understand my english first when I tried to order so I showed her the menu which is fine. We made the payment first and waited for our food to get prepared as we didn’t have much time, we weren’t told anything yet, neither we asked her to pack our food. When the food was ready, the lady was preparing it to go. we requested her not toibecause we wanted to dine in. She told her that we can’t dine in as we had not given her any tip and that she could only allow if we give her minimum percentage of the tip. I don’t know if this was a racial thing because we are Indians or she really wanted tip. Overall, it was a hurtful and unsatisfying experience. Giving 2 stars for the food. Love...
