EDIT I was enjoying this place, but the portion I got today is whack, so I'm lowering my rating to 2 stars from 5 stars. The portion I just received is literally half of what I was getting before. I specifically chose Kabob Guys today because I'm strapped for time and wanted enough food to last through a project I'm working on. Not cool.
ORIGINAL REVIEW I don't leave many reviews, but I felt compelled to for Kabob Guys. This meal is excellent! I ordered a BOGO deal from UberEATS and I am very satisfied. I'm still eating it right now! I couldn't wait to give this resto the appreciation it deserves.
As with all my UberEATS purchases, I looked at the Google reviews first. The food is excellent and I respect how they deal with their customers. The qorma chicken I got is VERY flavorful. Maybe too much salt for my personal taste, but that is by no means a complaint. This is my first time eating their food, but based on the reviews I read, I think the owners truly consider the feedback and make appropriate adjustments. I'm saying this because I saw several reviews saying it wasn't flavorful. I don't think those people lied; I think Kabob Guys listened and made changes, but who knows?
I must admit the naan is not very flavorful, but I think that's the point and I personally prefer it that way. It's whole grain as far as I can tell, and I'd opt for this healthy naan over the greasy alternative every time. Also the salad was delicious even without the dressing.
The only room for improvement I can note is that it was not perfectly sealed. Some juices leaked out. I admit this upset me at first, but the quality (and quantity!) is so good that it's easy to forgive.
Very satisfied, guys, thank you. I should also mention the food tastes very fresh and healthy. It is not greasy as all. The chicken came in a separate tub, so if you didn't want all the juices you could just strain some off.
Definitely will recommend. Definitely will eat here again, God willing.
PS - I saw a few reviews saying the chicken is rubbery... those comments are rubbish. I'm honestly shocked at the quality of the chicken, which I did my best to capture in the photos. The whole order is in the picture, minus the 2nd serving of rice and the 2nd serving of chicken. I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of their menu. Stellar...
Read moreThe Kabob Guys on Sheppard Avenue is a true Afghani food gem that deserves every bit of praise it gets. Their menu is packed with flavorful dishes — from juicy chicken kebabs and tender tandoori to the perfectly seasoned tandoori chicken dinner that comes with rice, salad, and warm, fresh naan. Every bite speaks of authentic Afghani flavors, but what truly elevates the experience is the exceptional service provided by the manager, Jalal.
Jalal is the heart of this place — super hospitable, professional, and genuinely caring about every customer’s experience. He personally ensured that my food was up to the highest quality standards, checking in to make sure everything was perfect. His warm attitude and attention to detail made me feel truly valued as a guest. To top it off, he even offered me a complimentary drink, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated to customer satisfaction.
It’s because of Jalal that I would love to visit The Kabob Guys again and again. The brand is lucky to have such an amazing representative — more restaurants should have employees like him who treat every customer...
Read moreIncredible, absolutely amazing food! It was our first time trying this place and it has definitely made it into our favourite places to revisit when we are in the city (We live in a small town). Across the board these guys get a 5 star review for: cleanliness, service, food and the wait time for our take out order.
When my husband and I arrived to order we ordered the Chicken & Beef Tikka dinner plate and the Sultani dinner plate. The plates come with a salad and rice which were beautifully seasoned and well portioned. The order comes with naan and a white and red sauce (chutney). Typically the chutney isn't my favourite sauce but their sauce was very light and the acid from the sauce really balanced out the flavors from the main dishes with the white sauce as a balance of cooling any heat. The red sauce was mildly hot but the perfect balance for everything.
Along side with our order we did not expect to receive Firni (we are very grateful and appreciate this!) This was absolutely delicious and a wonderful balance to finish...
