The Cha Gio Spring Rolls were okay, but they weren’t as crunchy as we expected.
The House Special Pho was average, with broth that could have been richer and more flavorful.
The Tom Yum Pho was kind of a letdown. While the noodles were good, the beef slices were too thin and there wasn't much of it. There were no shrimp or mushrooms like you usually get in regular Tom Yum
The Iced Vietnamese Coffees were not bad ... we liked that they served them in a GLASS rather than the cheap plastic cups you would get from other spots.
The place felt too hot inside, as if the air conditioning was set to Eco-mode during the summer, making it a bit uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, we felt they overcharged for the Tom Yum soup—an extra $4.00 when we asked for more [ At other places like Pho Anh Vu Don Mills, we received extra Pho broth for FREE ]. Even one of the servers acknowledged that the additional charge was too much.
I tried the restaurant mainly due to the high reviews so I had high expectations.
I had the House Special Pho large, which was $15 and change. I have to be honest, I'm used to large Pho sizes being enough to be split between two people and this large really felt like a medium portion. The bowl was big but it was more soup than food. The soup was at least very hot, but oily. Overall, it was average pho. I've had better tasting and better portion at other restaurants.
We were seated on the left side of the restaurant facing and I had to take off stars for atmosphere because the left side is a mess. They have stacks of boxes, used empty fridge, boarded up windows etc. They tried to kind of hide all that behind a curtain but it's still visible and not nice to look at when you're in a restaurant. There were also two fruit flies flying around our section which tells me that the restaurant could be better.
Service was okay. I was seated promptly, handed a menu and the food came out around 6 mins later. The next time the waiter checked in on me was for the bill.
A last note, the parking there isn't free...
Read moreNot sure why there’s so many positive reviews but I won’t be ordering from this place again. First and last time. I ordered a LARGE RARE beef pha and this is what I got for the price of $20 as you can see the beef is not rare and it’s all chopped to pieces. Also, every single pha restaurant I’ve been to the large is a big portion, enough for 2 people. This portion, their “large” is more like a medium. it’s a half portion size. I had high expectations due to the reviews but they’ve proven to be untrue. The portion is very small in comparison to other pha places. The broth is bland and the beef is super rubbery and dry. Probably the worst pha I’ve had. I also ordered an extra siracha sauce for 50 cents and got a tiny container about a quarter full of hot sauce. I also ordered at 12pm when they first open so I don’t understand why this was so bad.
Portion sizes are small for the price you pay, higher prices than other pha places in the area - bland broth, dry rubbery meat and very little veggies were given in the soup. I suggest to management to either increase your portion sizes or decrease your...
