This joint provides real good Sri Lankan food. The taste is good. The chef opens the kitcken around 6PM so don't be deceived anout the times in google. Overall food meets expectations and the portion sizes are reasonable for the price. This place is not the cheapest Sri Lankan food place in toronto.
Kottu: this gives authentic Sri Lankan kottu vibes making most of the other joints around toronto sub par. They have chicken, mutton, and other options as well. 5 stars
String hopper kottu: ordinary and nothing special about them. 3 stars
Fried rice: One of the best Sri Lankan fried rice in Toronto. The chicken and eggs are generously added. This gets 5 stars.
Short eats: Samosa and rolls are ok but I have had better in Toronto so not really good. 2 stars.
The overall 3 stars are due to waiting time. Your order will take minimum an hour feom the time you pay. You can order in advance but the phone is not always answered. I believe this is due to the fact that it is a single person run shop. He does everything.
Cleanliness is not so good but not bad either.
Edit: The quality of food has remained the same, hence increasing the stars to 4 stars. I managed to order in advance to...

South Indian) food and would love to try out from different restaurants around Toronto, this place is pretty close to where I live and wanted to avoid the hassle of going to Scarborough. The food they prepared was not upto the mark, it was too oily filled with extreme amount of masalas (Spices) to my taste. If you don't want to travel to Scarborough or Brampton for a south indian food experience then it's okay, but i wouldn't recommend. But the people were nice and welcoming, the restaurant was...

That aside this is my go-to place for good south Indian food. I especially love their dosa and kootu paratha. Their noodles are also pretty good - very south indian/Sri Lankan in flavour. The flavours all hit home. They also serve alcohol that attracts seedy crowd. An old couldn't keep his gaze off my friend who was the age of his grand daughter. The service is decent but slow, sometimes too slow to the point that I had leave midway after asking my friend to get the food home. the bartender girl is sweet. they also charge 25-50 cents for debit card transactions and dont accept...
