I deeply regret choosing this restaurant to celebrate my mom’s birthday. From start to finish, the experience was disappointing and frustrating. The staff—mostly young and seemingly untrained—lacked basic manners and professionalism.
I had made a reservation online a week in advance for a group of five, but when I arrived (2 out of 5 members of the party arrived early and were already seated), I was met with confusion and told, “Next time, don’t make a reservation online.” Pardon me, but if online booking is offered, it should be functional, and staff shouldn't be angry at the customer for using it. I would have turned around and left right at that moment if it weren't such a special occasion. The feeling this staff member gave me was so awful and unwelcoming.
For accuracy purposes, I made the online reservation on May the 18th for May the 24th.
Despite noting the occasion was my mom’s birthday, no acknowledgment was made, while the adjacent birthday table received loud celebrations and singing. We were seated beside them—loud music, children running around and playing with toy dinosaurs, even coming to our table uninvited. It felt chaotic, and more like a daycare than a restaurant.
When I asked for water, a staff member bluntly said, “We don’t do that,” without clarification. Apparently, she meant no pitchers, but her tone was rude and unhelpful, again, right from the beginning but now with another staff member (both were young girls with little experience).
The food was just as disappointing: the Kofte came as three tiny, thin pieces—nothing like the menu photo. The beef doner was dry, the rice was mushy, and the bulgur overcooked. They were also out of chicken doner.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Unprofessional service, poor food quality, and a total disregard for customer experience.
Honestly, I wish we had gone to Bosphorus down the street—a much more professional, welcoming, and authentic...
Read moreThe staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming. They offered me a complimentary tea while I waited, which was a lovely gesture. The tea itself was pleasant and made the short wait feel peaceful and stress-free.
The place itself was clean and spacious, with a relaxed vibe. I liked the retro pillows featuring hot air balloons—they added a nice touch of character to the space.
The Içli Köfte were amazing—crispy on the outside with a tender, satisfying bite. The filling was ground beef, delicately spiced so the flavors were present but not overpowering. A squeeze of lemon cut through the richness of the fried shell, while the pomegranate added a sweet-sour brightness that lifted the whole dish. It was very reminiscent of arancini from Sicily, but with a distinctly Turkish twist. I absolutely adored them!!!
I also ordered the Tombik Beef Doner Sandwhich. The tombik bread was easily the best part of the dish, it was fluffy and warm like a pillow with a slightly crispy crust. I wasn’t a huge fan of their döner itself—it reminded me a lot of roast beef and lacked the crispy edges I usually love in Turkish döner. It really missed that Maillard effect. That said, the sandwich wasn’t overloaded with toppings, which I appreciated. Sometimes simple is...

The service was top-notch; our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and passionate about the dishes they recommended.
As for the food, each plate was favoured perfectly balanced, showcasing the chef’s incredible skill and creativity. We got the meze platter which was delicious with sorts of different appetizers and the Kapadokya Mix which was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented with the fire in the middle. We also got lahmacun and pide which was excellent crispy and delicious. The sütlaç, cold baklava and kazandibi was a decadent yet light way to end the meal with Turkish tea on the side.
