Mexico Lindo Express — Restaurant in Toronto

We were at Scarborough for my wife’s vaccination. It took longer than expected and it was dinnertime anyways so we decided to order a quick meal and eat in our car before heading back.

A friend highly recommended Mexico Lindo so we decided to try it.. We ordered chicken enchiladas and hard tacos with beef filling which came with a side of fries. The quantity of food was more than enough for the three of us- me, my wife and my son.

As soon as my son took his first bite out of the taco, just by looking at his face I could tell he absolutely loved it. But that’s not surprising, he’s a big foodie who loves eating food from all around the world. By the time I had started on my enchilada, he had already polished off one taco ;)

As for me, the first bite of the enchilada was an explosion of flavours in my mouth. It also came with a side of lettuce salad, mexican rice, and refried beans. Together they brought the flavour of the enchilada to life. It was piping hot, had just the right amount of heat, was smothered in a creamy sauce, and had a tangy flavour. I was literally blown away. Hands down the best enchiladas I ever had !!!!

We had churros for dessert. It also came with a chocolate dip which my son loved. The thing I liked most about it is the three churros came with three different dips. Although they were not the best churros I had eaten, they complimented the meal very well.

Overall my rating for this restaurant is solid 5-stars because we really enjoyed the food here. I will highly recommend this place and if I get a chance to go there again, I’ll try out more of their dishes which I’m sure are...

I am so sad to have to write this review as an Asian person living in Scarborough I feel it would be nice to have a some new culture of food choices to select from. So one Wednesday afternoon I had made up my mind to give this place a try . Service at the counter was amiable perhaps that's where the star is allocated for this 1 star rating, as where the service stops and food rating begins .Let me start off by saying this food is not fatal to eat as it is fresh, from the lime wedges to the sour cream and almost raw pineapple dice ... all fresh ... what it lacks is the attention to care of the cooking time of the meats, totally over cooked and lack of flavor. The toppings were either just cut and topped without regards of seasoning . Perhaps a flavored pickled salsa would be more palatable , tortilla was bland not like other OG taquerias that soak base broth . Put it simply the flavor lack soul or care ...for over $30 in a restaurant competitive mall this restaurant has some work cut out for them. I feel the kitchen needs to raise the bar to the front of the house ." Underpromise and overdeliver". I hope the owners can heed this wakeup call , I don't see this restaurant relying on branding or legacy to recover from...
