I recently dined at Momo2go, a delightful Himalayan restaurant that offers a unique and flavorful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that made for a pleasant dining experience.
I tried the Butter Chicken Momo, Tandoori Momo, Chili Fries, and Masala Coke.
Butter Chicken Momo: This dish was the standout of the evening. The momos were large and perfectly cooked, with a tender and juicy filling that was bursting with the rich and creamy flavors of butter chicken. The combination of spices and the buttery sauce made each bite incredibly satisfying.
Chili Fries: These were a surprising delight! The fries were well-seasoned, with just the right amount of heat. The addition of Himalayan spices elevated this classic comfort food to a whole new level.
Tandoori Momo: The Tandoori Momo came on an Instagram worthy hot sizzling plate with equally tastebud worthy bold and smoky flavours. I especially liked that it came with lots of sizzling onions.
Masala Coke: This drink was an interesting and refreshing choice.
Overall, Momo2go provided a wonderful dining experience with its unique take on Himalayan cuisine. I highly recommend trying the Butter Chicken Momo and Chili Fries if you visit. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. I'll definitely be returning to explore more...
Read moreTried Momo2Go Rexdale location yesterday with high hopes, especially seeing all the glowing reviews, but sadly my experience didn’t match the hype at all. As a food enthusiast who’s always on the lookout for bold flavours and balanced textures, this one left me disappointed across the board.
We ordered the Golden Noodles, Pan-Fried Chicken Momos, Tandoori Chicken Momos, and Wai Wai Sadeko. Let’s just say, nothing really stood out, and not in a good way.
The Golden Noodles were far too oily, almost greasy to a point where it overwhelmed the dish. The Pan-Fried Momos were anything but crispy. They were drenched in oil and lacked the golden crunch that makes pan-fried momos worth the indulgence. The Tandoori Chicken Momos were probably the best out of the bunch, but even that bar wasn’t high. The seasoning felt half-hearted and the smokiness you'd expect from a proper tandoor finish was missing.
What really puzzled me was the Wai Wai Sadeko. A dish that usually punches with tang, heat, and crunch felt lifeless here. Basic in execution and almost emotionless on the palate, which is ironic for a dish known for its street-style zing.
I genuinely wanted to like this place. The concept is promising and momos are close to my heart, but this visit fell flat. I’d give it 2 out of 5. Needs a serious revisit on quality, balance, and execution to match the ratings it...
Read moreShowed up at 845pm on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Got to order at 9:04 pm. The place was extremely disorganized by that time. I literally waited 1 hour for my food, even I was told 20 minutes. More than 10 people who ordered after me with significantly larger orders got their food ahead of me. It got to the point I was telling counter staff to give me their manager as it felt very discriminatory experience where all the brown / Indian people got their food ahead of the sole white guy there. It should be first come first serve and some communication if an order is late, versus counter staff scrambling to understand what order is done. It was so disorganized that no one was cleaning the tables for eat in, as if the public were pigs running around the food bucket. The quality of the food was good but there was no manager there at the time I was present and staff at this location were so ill-prepared to handle the public that service was extremely subpar. There was no point of asking customer names as the music was so loud and counter staff could not call out to anyone. I was standing beside the counter and heard nothing other than counter staff running around with their heads cut off basically since no one knew what their job was. As such, training is absolutely necessary for staff is my...
