If it hadn't been for other cafes in the area being packed with laptop hipsters, I may not have stumbled across this one. And I'm glad I did. It was so refreshing to have a real European cappuccini. None of those huge mugs full of milk with latte art all over them. (Not that I don't enjoy a good one of those.) But since spending time in Europe I've become accustomed to how they do them at small neighbourhood cafes. Soft, thick, frothy foam. Not too much milk. I suppose I can thank the fact it appears this cafe is Albanian? Very relieved to see this. Coffee was very good. Barista was okay. The place has lots of seating but feels a bit... empty. Just a bit sterile? Lacking warmth and coziness. I had wanted to sit, enjoy a cappuccino, and read a little but didn't feel like that sort of place. Also, for half my visit, I could hear people having a loud, angry screaming argument in the back. It was a bit uncomfortable. I wouldn't mind coming back for coffee and crepes! As for the person complaining about lack of parking, clearly he didn't see the big Green P lot almost next door. There's always a space available in that lot.

An awesome place to relax and get together with a few friends! Place is quiet during the day and the interior just speaks calm and serene. Could have totally stayed there the whole day! The crepes were actually fluffy! Which was so nice! A nice chewy bite and like biting into a soft pillow. And it also had a nice spring to the crepe. Ordered the la mour and this came with strawberries, hazelnut spread, and biscuits. If you haven’t had biscuits with Nutella, you’re totally missing out! And now it’s within a crepe, I’m totally about this! It was also served with marshmallows on the side which was nice. If it was within the crepe and a little melted, I think it would’ve been even more perfect! Service was excellent and lots of locals going in and out saying hi, so you know they’re about being in the neighborhood love! Great job overall! Definitely coming back for other crepes, treats and lattes! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics and more amazing content!

Needed a place open early for a good coffee and breakfast and found Monopol Cafe available at 7am so figured I’d check it out on a whim. The woman behind the counter was extremely friendly, helpful as I reviewed the menu, and prepared both an amazing Iced Latte and my crepe order. “The 6ix” crepe was packed full of sweet without being overwhelming, and provided a good arrangement of textures between the strawberries, hazelnuts, and softer ingredients. I sat down after ordering and despite it being Cafe style, when the order was ready she brought my order over on a tray, laid a cutlery and water setting in front of me, and then put forth my food. Amazing service, delicious food, and overall just an exceptional experience!

Good food is not common in Toronto. It is very difficult to get value for your hard earned cash when you eat out. If the food tastes good portions are usually miniscule leaving you unsatiated and hungry. Cafe Monopol just outside of Pape station is one of the few places I have found in Toronto that offers value for money. It is one of the hidden gems in this city. Having good tasty food with hearty portions in a nice clean ambient environment is certainly an experience all "foodies" look for when they eat out. The Cafe specializes in crepes both sweet and savory all of them are good, so is the coffee. It has a good selection of pies too. I tried the Vitamin D crepe that had smoked salmon, cream, olives, mushrooms and spinach with a creamy coffee latte, absolutely delicious . The service is prompt and friendly. This place easily gets five stars, I can recommend it without hesitation. Hear that Torontonians next time you are around Pape drop in and enjoy a hearty meal with good coffee or drinks you...
