I used to love going to Mr. J’s a few times a season for fries after walking my dog. The last few months though they haven’t been that good and the price has gone up. Today though, I ordered some and was really looking forward to sitting by the lake and having a nosh with my dog. The size of the order was half of what it normally was so I asked the guy what was going on. His boss told him to. That dude (whoever Mr.J actually is) has a monopoly on Cherry Beach. There are no other vendors there and he is busy ALL summer long as the place is packed. What a greedy man. I won’t be getting my fries there anymore. the cheese curds were sour? Literally expired cheese. The taste of them, the smell of them. I thought I was mistaken at first. Nope. Sour cheese for their overly priced poutine. Trying to sell their sour cheese to earn profit. French fries, gravy, and cheese. Wow. very nice of you guys, thank you, especially for the money me and my friends paid. Not cheap. We happened upon this food truck at the beach. We were just relaxing down by the water and feeling a little peckish. We decided to get some fries with gravy. Along with a canned drink, it came to $13 which is very reasonable. The fries and the gravy were perfect and hot. There is a nice view of the lake, sand and trees. It is very relaxing and while only a short distance from the hustle and bustle of downtown it is miles away and serene.
