Went yesterday for Trey Songz! The whole night sure what something š what fun memories!
DJ Aaron was pretty damn good! Loved he played full songs. Then there were 2 or 3 DJs after him, sadly I don't recall their names, but there's something about a DJ who plays 10-20 seconds of 1 song before switching to another that just doesnt keep you dancing. I highly recommend to not book them, especially the ones who talk/sing horribly over top the music...that was the downfall of the night, especially when everyone stopped dancing for practically 1h30 mins of the night...the amount of boos and stop playing should have been the que to management to switch DJs and not let them play againš š¤£ DJ White, I think that was his name, the last DJ, should have been played after Aaron and not the others between that were constantly booed. Trey played at the last hour of the place being opened, which was also the downfall for the DJs cause everyone was waiting for him. Not sure if Trey himself was late or it was scheduled like so so people would stay and not leave afterwards if he sang before the place closed, but that's when you keep the best DJ last, and have promos on drinks/shots to essentially keep us there...kind of felt bad for the DJs even though I didn't fancy their playlist at all.
Other than that, the washroom was clean and kept good, no huge lines, perhaps invest in more stalls though, us ladies take forever and many refresh their look taking over the sinks area so you're left waiting to wash your hands.
Drinks are pricey, $15 for one...if I decide to go here again, I wouldn't buy any drinks at all, and either drink beforehand or just stay sober š¤·āāļø
Also, many people smoking inside too. Be prepared to leave smelling horribly like cigarette smoke. Not sure if it's allowed, but I saw no security attempt to halt the smoker's inside.
When we got there, the security team seemed lost on where to send people. Not very organized and when people asked them where do they walk to they were ignored š¤·āāļø
The staff who were friendly, were the female bartenders and the attendant in the washroom.
Parking at location, but $30.
Not the best atmosphere for a night to have me return, but definitely will look and see if the DJ who would be playing there is worth going. Not a random club to hit randomly. Hit or miss at this point here, at least for me.
The whole area of the roads are under construction, so be prepared for traffic and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a terrible place all around for a concert. We went to see Gareth Emery, and the only thing I didnāt hate was actually seeing the artist I went there for.
First, the location is terrible. It is surrounded by industrial buildings and one street with too many street lights that allow two people to go through. So it takes forever to actually get to the actual area. Second is the parking situation and lack of people directing traffic. Third is the lack of organization outside the club. We stand in one line, but then you are offered to pay $20 to skip the line but still wait in it? Fourth was the lack of direction of where to go and the coat check. There werenāt any employees inside directing you where coat check is. We ended up asking the people in front of us and when we finally got to coat check we ended up waiting another half hour for it only for them to say they only accept cash. However, days prior to this I emailed them and told me that everything is cashless in the club. The coat check personnel told us to go to the nearby bartender and ask her to exchange the US $5 bill to Canadian. We did, but the bartender just looked at us and say no and walked away. So when she came back around I asked her where I could get some Canadian cash - like could she charge me and give me cash like an ATM. She looked at me and said āthatās not my problem babe!ā I was baffled (to note I donāt drink so I was a hundred percent sober). In which I said āI know itās not your problem but Iām also asking you a question you donāt have to be rude about it.ā Which she replied in with attitude that sheās just the bartender and that itās not her problem. Like I get it we got there and sheās trying to make drinks for customers but the coat check guy told us to come specifically to her to exchange cash. As I walked away she yelled they had an ATM downstairs. She could have simply told us to begin with. The overall lack of organization, security in the club and room, I wouldnāt recommend going to a show here. This was my first time and it put a really bad taste...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the chance to experience Rebel in Toronto, and while the club boasts an impressive architectural design and structure, my overall experience was less than stellar. The very essence of a nightclub is its atmosphere, and unfortunately, Rebel fell short in several areas.
To start with the positives, the aesthetics of the club are genuinely commendable. The intricate design and the well-thought-out layout made it clear that a lot of effort went into the structural planning. It sets an expectation for a premier clubbing experience.
However, practicalities soon overshadowed these first impressions. The club's location posed significant challenges for those looking to get an Uber or Lyft, causing unnecessary inconvenience at the end of the night. Once inside, the extreme heat and humidity made it nearly impossible to dance and enjoy. The suffocating warmth was an unexpected damper on what should have been a lively evening.
Service at the bar was another significant concern. With so many excellent venues around Toronto, one would expect Rebel to uphold a certain standard of service, but the bartenders seemed overwhelmed, resulting in less-than-satisfactory encounters.
Additionally, our party was overcharged with a twisty fee (100 dollars), and despite the party running until 4:30 am, they stopped serving drinks post 2 am. This felt misleading and detracted from the overall value of the night.
Lastly, the bathroom facilities were a disaster. Not only were the waiting times upwards of 30 minutes, but the conditions inside were also far from hygienic. For a club of Rebel's supposed repute, this was a glaring oversight.
In summary, while Rebel has potential due to its structural design, the overall experience left much to be desired. Practical issues like temperature control, service, and facility maintenance need urgent attention for it to truly shine in Toronto's nightlife scene. I will never return to...
