Walking into Nette’s Café is like stepping into a warm embrace you didn’t know you needed. From the very first moment, I felt an atmosphere that can only be described as love poured into every detail. This isn’t just a café—it’s a sanctuary, a place where comfort meets quality, and where every guest is treated like family and the products are hands down so delicious and made with quality and expertise. The pastries and bake goods are beyond and above sooo delicious and the halo halo was amazing and drinks are so good. But beyond the incredible drinks and food, what truly sets Nette’s Café apart is Nette herself. Her warmth, genuine kindness, and attention to detail transform this café into something extraordinary. She has created more than a spot to eat or drink—she’s built a community cafe where strangers leave as friends and every customer feels seen, valued, and appreciated. She pours her heart not only into the menu, but into the people who walk through her doors. You don’t just come here to eat or drink—you come here to feel at home. Toronto has many cafés, but none carry the soul that this one does. Nette’s Café isn’t just a place you visit—it’s a place you carry with you long after you’ve left. Every detail, every flavor, every kind gesture is a reflection of the passion and kindness behind it all.

I recently tried their Halo Halo and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. For $11.99, I expected a lot more than what was served. The flavor was close to a melon shake than the classic, layered complexity of a traditional Halo Halo. It didn’t have that distinct mix of flavors you’d expect from the dish.

The ingredients were also lacking. The banana slices weren’t soft, which took away from the texture, and there was an overwhelming amount of gulaman, which didn’t balance well with the other elements. Overall, it felt like something was missing—there wasn’t much variety or that "wow" factor that usually comes with a good Halo Halo.

For the price, I really hoped for something more special, but unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. Hopefully, they’ll consider adding a few more ingredients next time to elevate...

It feels and tastes like home!!! This Halo-halo is very refreshing and has multi-layered flavours and textures, making it my favourite treat. Nette's Cafe Halo-Halo is well-loved, that's why I have to experience it myself.
