First time visit, let me get the one tiny thing out of the way.
After our dine in meal our clothes and hair smelled like frying oil. And the next day my sweater and jacket still smelled. Also there was a point that during the evening I guess the smoke from cooking became too much and was making my eyes water.
BUT THAT'S ALL THE NEGATIVES.
Everything else was positive!
If you're from out of town or a different part of the city, parking may be an issue, but I parked behind the restaurant and asked if it was okay if I parked there. If not there is street parking or a Green P lot nearby. It felt like most of the patrons were local and getting Takeout or maybe they knew where to park.
If you haven't eaten here - YOU GOTTA EAT HERE. It might be my first time having Bahamian Food but the bar has been set high. Real high.
First of all the staff were excellent, so friendly and accommodating in answering our questions and giving suggestions on what to have as our first meal.
We got the Conch Fritters, the Fried Fish and Pancakes, the Fish Finger Dinner, and two Switchers.
Despite the bones - that Fried Fish was absolute perfection. Listen if you're getting a whole fish you know there's gonna be bones. The seasoning was good, but they also give a lime and this spicy vinegar thing in a little cup and it just adds extra flavour. But those pancakes and guava butter - absolutely excellent. Definitely get this. We loved the conch fritters with that kick at the end and the sauce! Everything was just excellent. We came at a good time because it didn't take long for our food to come out. I was expecting to wait 30 mins or more - as orders were piling in later in the evening yes people were waiting but everything is made fresh to order.
I can't wait to come back and order the Seafood Monster~ Definitely recommending this place...
Read more1st time visiting this nice establishment. I'm not a seafood lover but I did try the conch fritters and I liked it. It was a little bit salty but very flavourful. The texture of the conch chunks reminded me of cow foot #IYKYK The dip served with the fritters was sort of like a spicy aioli but I personally believe some type of sweet sauce like tamarind would've been more complimentary. I took the rest home for my mom & she loved them which is a huge deal for my Caribbean mom to compliment anything she's never cooked, lol. She's been cooking over stones from a very young age so it takes a lot to impress her and please her palette. I also ordered white rice w/ their guava bbq chicken and a side of potato salad and fried plantain. The server did not tell me they were out of white rice so I got their version of rice & peas which reminded me of Trinidadian pelau but some of the rice grains were not fully cooked. The plantain was delicious (you can't mess up plantain) and so was their potato salad despite the heavy addition of mustard. The sauce on the chicken was delicious but it was giving more bbq than guava. I'm thankful everything was prepared fresh but the wait time was very long and my food was not served at the same time or even close together as my friend so we were not able to eat together as planned. Their lemonade can absolutely get some love because it complimented my meal very well and wasn't too sweet or too bland for my liking. Overall, the food truly tasted good and the dining space was clean, colorful and the music was very fitting and the volume wasn't too loud to make...
Read moreOk so I went there today all the way from downtown, so it took me like an hour and some to get there, I really wanted conch but unfortunately they didn't have none the girl at the registration was like sorry we're out of conch her whole attitude was nonchalant, she wasn't rude but it was like she didn't wanna be there she even yawned and everything smh we had a very awkward exchange because I thought she said no tip? After I paid but he said all good? Under her voice so I barely could hear her which why I guess I misunderstood. That made everything weird for me then what made it worse was she told the other workers at the back what I said because I literally told her why I didn't tip. They all laugh in the back which is expected from my Bahamian people most of us are not very professional back home and I guess they brought that same mentality here.
Let me just get down to the real reason I came....the food I got which was cracked chicken instead of conch and it was good I enjoyed it everything was nice food wise so I'd say go try the food but don't expect them to smile or be nice. Just expect people yawning in your face 😂😂😂 I'm never going back there.
That's my 20 cents and I'm not a picky person I just expected more from them especially seeing how nice they seem ok ig it's nothing like that.
But try the food it's...
