Pitaland Mid East Urban Kitchen on Markham Road in Scarborough is one of those hidden gems you can’t help but return to, not only for its delicious food but also for its outstanding service. While the chicken shawarma wrap and plate with garlic potatoes are simply amazing—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly seasoned—it was the hospitality of Anu, one of the employees, that truly made my experience unforgettable.

From the moment I walked in, Anu greeted me with a warm smile that instantly set a positive tone. She carried herself with such professionalism and genuine kindness that it didn’t feel like a typical transaction—it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. Throughout the entire process, she was attentive, patient, and always smiling, creating an atmosphere that made me feel valued as a customer.

What really impressed me was the consistency in her demeanor. Even while managing a busy environment, Anu never lost her composure. She was polite, respectful, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right with my order.

It’s because of her hospitality and professionalism that I would love to visit again and again. Anu is truly an asset to Pitaland, making every...

We used to eat here weekly, but ever since the staffing changed, the level of service has noticeably declined. It’s disappointing, especially because the previous two staff members always made us feel welcome and consistently served generous portions.

While I have nothing against the current workers personally, it feels like management has cut corners with training or portion standards. I recently ordered a chicken shawarma plate, which includes salad and potatoes, and was surprised to see only two tomato slices in the salad and a very small serving of potatoes. I also had to repeatedly ask for more sauce and toppings—something that was never an issue before.

If this were a one-time occurrence, I wouldn’t mention it, but unfortunately, it’s been consistent with each visit lately. Cutting back from five tomato slices to two isn’t going to save the business much, but it does affect the customer experience.

We now only come here occasionally, and I genuinely hope management retrains the staff to bring back the quality and portions that made this...

Service and workers were friendly and welcoming. However, the food just isnt amazing. It's just blah and Very subpar.!! I got a shwarma wrap and shwarma plate. For being the price it is, youd think the quantity of the plate would have more meat and toppings but it didn't. The wrap was soggy and very very small. Extremely very little amount of chicken in the wrap. When you go to eat it, its stuck to the wraper and soggy. Hot sauce sucks. Garlic sauce is nothing special.

Overall, the quality and flavors are just not there. The quantity could have been forgiven if the flavors were good but its just below average and nothing worth while.

Theres alot better places in the area for this kind of food. Never going back here . This could have been a one off but not worth the risk again in my opinion.

I cant believe this place is a 5 star on google reviews, either i had a bad batch of food or this place has a lot of friends helping...

Just tried the new location for a takeout lunch, and I was impressed! The place is spotless, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate and a Chicken Shawarma Wrap. The plate was excellent—the chicken was perfectly seasoned, and the portion size, though a bit smaller than what you might expect, was still satisfying. The wrap, however, was a bit of a mixed bag. The main difference between the plate and the wrap was the addition of hummus, but the wrap was unfortunately too salty for my taste. Overall, a solid spot for lunch with great service, but I’d recommend the plate over the wrap if you’re looking for a more balanced meal.

I recently visited this place and ordered the beef shawarma salad. To my surprise, the staff repeated my order but then offered me chicken instead, claiming it was cheaper. It felt like they were trying to push the chicken on me rather than provide the beef I originally wanted. After some back-and-forth, I requested a refund because I didn't appreciate the time wasted or the attempt to upsell me. I don't recommend coming here, as it seems they're just trying to sell the chicken regardless of what you order. Additionally, the vegetables looked dead. Overall, my experience was disappointing, and I would not recommend this place based on my visit.
