Shawarma Istanbul — Restaurant in Toronto

This place is insanely good, don't listen to the other reviews crying about Uber. You get what you pay for. Restaurants lose in the 2 for 1 deals. Are people not aware that Uber takes 30 percent of their order? Think logically people. For the cost of a 2 for 1 + Ubers cut, they have to rationalize the portions to not lose while doing it.

Now with that being said, I never expect something grand when I order these Uber deals unless the price is obviously the original prices for two but labelled as "buy one, get one free", but I ordered the 2 for 1 sandwich deal, and a chicken Shawarma plate and was beyond satisfied. They made my order within 10 minutes. The options for the salad are great, the sauce selection you cannot get any other shawarma place, the sandwich deal was well worth it and loaded.

The over-saturation of shawarma places makes it difficult to find a place with balance, you can't get recommendations from anyone because everyone is bias as to what they like about their place of choice. Anyone that likes Osmow's is automatically excluded. It's hard to find somewhere you want to continuously go to, you usually can't get everything in one place. If you get good salad, you get oddly seasoned meat/out of a hot container meat (not real shawarma)/, maybe some decent rice and no potatoes. It's always an imbalance between that bunch, and then some places skimp on hummus and/or garlic sauce and you have to strong arm them for a measly spoon (looking at you Pita Land).

Alpha shawarma is great for Arab shawarma, this place is great for Turkish shawarma, and the wraps are like Shawarma Empire's in Scarborough which is Palestinian (They usually win the number 1 shawarma title every year). Shawarma Istanbul goes toe to toe with them.

One of the things I loved was that they did not cheap out on the salad. They're mindful enough to know people will have leftovers and they give the salad in a separate box so you don't have to reheat everything in one box and end up with soggy warm veggies (with rice and sauce attached to it, it's off-putting to separate it yourself after that anyways). One of the main reasons I hate shawarma takeout.
