Toronto Pho JANE — Restaurant in Toronto

I live pretty close to this restaurant, unfortunately, as of lately, the service has been extremely disappointing. Id rather do take out than dine in. Tonight I dined in, and ordered a pho without the noodles, on the menu it even states no noodles. The lady came back and asked very rudely how it doesn't come with noodles and was basically showing force in her words. I repeatedly said no noodles. Anyways, besides that, I wanted to grab my regular passion fruit slush without the milk product they use. (For the past several times, they have made it without the product, and it tastes amazing) They ran out, so I wanted a peach one. I had to repeatedly state please no milk products, the first lady refused and said no we mix it in and cant do it. When I ALWAYS get it without it. The other lady had to come in and think about how to make it without it. They were laughing as I walked back to my table, which made me extremely uncomfortable and kept looking my way. Im not sure if they were speaking of me or not, but that was not called for. Unfortunately, it did not taste great. I felt the sugar overpowered the drink, and I felt there were strong milk contents in there. It's my usual drink and it did not taste like it was without milk. On top of that, I did not get a refund, nor did they accommodate me to make a new drink. I have issues with milk contents, and out of the courtesy Id expect at least a refund or something else in exchange. As I the customer would be leaving pleased. If something ever happened to me health wise because of them making the drink wrong, it would be totally on their hands. Lastly, the food here is pretty okay. Some are hits and misses, but I would for sure not want to dine in, as the attitude is very rudely mannered. If you want their attention they'll take awhile to respond back, you really have to make it visible you need something. All in all Id...

Wasn’t a really great experience to be totally honest. Even giving this restaurant 2 stars is a bit of a stretch. Most of the time I wouldn’t take the liberty to go as far as leaving a review but this was pretty bad.

First, we had asked for a table for 2 and we were told to seat ourselves. It was a little odd but we picked a table and waited patiently for the server to come bring water/menus. After about 10 mins, I literally went to the front desk to ask for a menu. After I grabbed the menu and went all the way back to our table the waiter finally decided to come by to take our order. It was about a 10 minute wait.

Then we waited. What seemed like an eternity. Finally my partner got up after about 20 minutes to ask if our appetizer was coming. It finally arrived with all the other items and the server dropped it off to the table. The only problem was we did not have cutlery to eat it with. Once again, I got up and went to the front desk to ask for utensils. I grabbed the cutlery and went all the way back to our table.

Then my partner noticed that he did not bring us water at the table. He then got up and went to the front desk to ask for glasses of water. By this point we both felt very exhausted.

Overall it wasn’t great. I don’t blame the servers. Clearly they are a product of their environment and poor management. I think they were more focused on their Uber eats and skip the dishes orders that they forgot they were running a restaurant. Wasn’t worth my $75 that’s for sure. With that much effort on our part we could have stayed home and prepared our own meals. I have received better service and attention to detail at a fast food chain then what I experienced tonight.

It’s really too bad because the food wasn’t horrible in fact it was pretty delicious but the service and proper restaurant etiquette was...

Appearance: 10/10 ⭐️ I ordered - Grilled Beef, with Spring Roll, Vermicelli, Vegetables, Fish Sauce & Peanuts. When I first opened the take out box everything looked very very fresh and appetizing. Good amount of toppings, everything spread out nicely.

Smell: 10/10 ⭐️ Very pleasant smell of marinated beef, pickled vegetables and fish sauce. Absolutely zero complaints, made my mouth water when I first smelled it. I could tell everything was made fresh.

Taste: 10/10 ⭐️ Beef was very tasty, marinated in a delicious sauce, I wish there was more of it in the dish! Noodles themselves have no flavour so when you mix it with sauce + veggies + beef it brings together the whole new delicious experience and flavours! Nothing tasted off , I was truly surprised with how balanced all the flavours were!

Texture: 10/10 ⭐️ Beef was so juicy and tasty absolutely zero complaints, noodles were chewy yet with a bite to them, spring roll was fried just right - not greasy or soggy, vegetables were crunchy and fresh .

Temperature: 10/10 ⭐️ Food was delivered piping hot and ready to eat.

Flavour: 10/10 ⭐️ Overall flavour was just incredible, I loved how all the ingredients went so well together and the sauce just complimented the dish!

Price: 9/10 ⭐️ Their menu is a bit on a pricier side, and the utensils cost extra as well. But it’s well worth it!
