Golden Star Restaurant — Restaurant in Toronto

I’ve been coming to this place for a long time since I was a child. I guess new people bought it but if you’re not gonna listen to any review, listen to this one. Very bad inedible food. we ordered so much food and we literally couldn’t eat almost any of it. We ordered a cream corn soup. She brought out a wonton soup. She was gonna take it back, but we said you know well let’s just eat it. of course she charged us. The wonton soup was so salty. She convinced that it would be really good. We finally get our cream corn soup. It is insanely salty. I can’t even put soya sauce. We ordered black bean beef also incredibly salty. the Golden Star rice seemed like it was from a couple days ago, but it taste OK. the slices of pork: The veggies had no flavor. It was just steamed no garlic no ginger nothing. This is by far the worst meal I’ve ever had in my life and I don’t even know what to do with all The food. I don’t usually speak up, but I decided out of concern for the company that I would go speak to the man at the counter. I told him everything is too salty and he said which plate. I told him three out of five he didn’t seem to believe me and on top of that I was still charged for the wonton soup and my bill was almost $80. I feel like I got ripped off and I’m gonna be sick when I get home. The worst part is there is zero customer service and they didnt do anything to rectify anything. All he could say to me was nobody complained about that this week. I really wonder what he meant by only this week. when people dislike your food and they are very polite, you do something to make them happy. And especially dont charge them for wrong order....

TERRIBLE!! I ordered from this place a few times and it was always generally fine however the one time I experienced an issue with my delivery order, the gentleman on the phone handled it very rudely and quickly HUNG up the phone on me. I ordered the Golden Star Chow Mein Noodles dish which is supposed to come with beef, pork, shrimp, and chicken...but it ONLY came with pieces of chicken. When i called the restaurant, the gentleman who answered said he would check with the chef and call me back...... 45 min later I still did not get a call back so i called again and the same guy answered. When I told him I had been waiting for his callback he said "you ordered the chicken chow mein"....I said No that is not true...I ordered and paid for the Golden Star Chow Mein noodles and right away he yelled "THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO OK!" and hung up. I was extremely shocked as I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life!!! I want to make clear that NOT once during my complaint or call did I raise my voice or talk down to the gentleman. I was very polite and was just hoping for some kind of solution. I am attaching photos of the order and receipt to show that I did in fact order the Golden Star...

First time going here and it was the WORST experience ever. Bought my husband some chow mein and bbq pork only for him to choke on a long metal string. (A pose of the steel wool which is used to scrub the pots) I contacted the store and spoke to a woman who served me while picking up my order. I explained what had happened. She remembered me and my order. I mentioned that I had taken pics and would text them to her, she refused and confirmed that the metal piece was in deed a piece of steel wool. She offered a credit for my next order. I respectfully declined and explained that I would never order from there again. She then went silent. I explained that I was recording the conversation and that I would be forwarding the recording and pics to my lawyer. I asked for her name and position at the store. She declined to provide me with her name as well as her position. I advised her that my lawyer will be in contact....
