Nguyen Huong has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s one of those places that feels like home the second you walk in. My family has been coming here for generations, and the quality, warmth, and authenticity have never changed. It’s a true hidden gem that’s stood the test of time in the best way possible.

The ladies who work and who run the shop are always so kind and welcoming. Their energy and care really shine through in the food. The star of the show for me has always been their classic and chicken bánh mì. It’s simple, satisfying, and just done right. The balance of flavours, the crunch of the baguette, the freshness of the ingredients... it’s exactly what a bánh mì should be. Honestly, I’d say Nguyen Huong are the OGs of bánh mì in the city. No frills, no gimmicks—just consistently amazing sandwiches made with love.

One of my favourite things they offer is their in-house Vietnamese pâté. It’s rich, smooth, and full of flavour. I always grab one to keep in my fridge—perfect for those quiet mornings when all I want is a toasted baguette and some pâté. There’s something so nostalgic and comforting about it. It brings back memories of family breakfasts and weekend lunches growing up.

Their mini chả sticks(Vietnamese sausage) is another staple for me. It’s savoury, perfectly seasoned, and great as a snack or part of a meal. You can tell it’s made fresh and if you’re craving variety, Nguyen Huong has so many other options to choose from. They carry an incredible selection of Vietnamese sticky rice and traditional sweets, all made fresh in-house. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savoury, there’s always something exciting to try.

They also offer a selection of savoury bites like fresh shrimp rolls, fried noodles, and other hot dishes that are perfect for a quick meal on the go. Everything is affordable, flavourful, and feels like something your auntie would lovingly pack for you.

In a city that’s constantly changing, Nguyen Huong remains one of those rare places that holds onto tradition and does it beautifully. Whether you're popping in for a bánh mì, stocking up on Viet pâté, or treating yourself to a tray of sticky rice, you’ll leave happy—and probably planning your next visit before you’ve even finished eating.

A true Toronto classic, and hands down one of my favourite spots for cheap eats with heart.

I have been buying food here many time , which give local business and super people. Some lady here has horrible customer service, rude , horrible rude !!! And the food been in garbage after I bought many time . I didn’t bother to tell them , but I did tell call two time and tell them the food already stalled. The answer is ( oh ok ) and today again. My husband just buy a Cha lua , it’s already smelling and viscous !!! I call want to tell them and see what they said ! Guess what , they Pretend not heard me , and they just hold the phone there and no one talk to me . This is ridiculous how you guys treat your customers like this . !!! I don’t recommend and food here , I have buy and nothing is good, special to expensive. I make it better. No more supporting from me or my family and friends...
