We had a very bad experience at Sher-E-Punjab. The chicken fried rice we ordered was stale. It smelt like fish. The cashier suggested to order Manchuria which was awful. Could not eat it. The Bhel puri was literally from Haldiram’s Bhel puri pack which you can buy for $1 at most grocery stores and were charged $9.99 for a portion of Brel puri from the pack. We were not offered water until we paid the bill. Even then we had to ask for water ad wait 5 mins after paying the bill and ask again to get some water. The ambience was dull. We would never go there again.

I usually add about 15% of tip to the bill. To my surprise, the machine did not prompt for the tip when I was paying the bill. However, after the bill is paid the final receipt came out with tip added. I paid the tip without my knowledge. The cashier was unwilling to hand me the final receipt. He was saying thank you as soon as I tapped it and expecting me to leave. I felt suspicious and asked for the receipt and there it was the tip amount added. The whole...

My wife and I ate here at a Monday night at 7:30PM. Beautiful interior and exterior; not dingy or tacky at ALL. The portions are generous, as long as you combine your order with rice and naan/roti (between $5 and $7 for an order of both, which is sharable between two people).

The Chicken Tikki Masala is incredible, and the curry with it is supremely flavourful. Very VERY good taste and awesome overall. She got the chickpea curry which was great as well. Nothing we had, including alcoholic drinks, could be faulted in any way.

Total $55 after tax and tip for two meals, rice, roti, naan, a soft drink and a cocktail. Prices were super reasonable; could come down to $20 each for a nice, varied dinner if you cut...

I ordered for delivery and the portions were small (especially the rice portions). I called after placing my online order to ensure that the kitchen knew that I prefer my curries to be pretty mild.

The beef vindaloo was so spicy I couldn't even finish it and that is not normally like me.

Most Indian places I order from serve the rice order in the same size container as the curry dish, but this rice portion was much smaller than my main, and insufficient, especially considering how spicy it was.

The butter chicken was nothing special and lacked flavour.

The beef vindaloo was so spicy I couldn't really taste any of the flavours and the beef was pretty tough.

The palak paneer was delicious and had...

This Indian place in the Danforth seems catered to non-natives. It’s really fancy inside and service is attentive. I recommend the sizzling platter to share for the table. It comes with really tender tandoori chicken and grilled shrimp. The meat is very tasty, and the portion size is good. The butter chicken curry $17 was so good. They ran out of roti, so I settled for garlic naan $4 and basmati rice $4. The lamb Rogan josh $18 was recommended by our server. He claimed it was his favorite. It was good and on the spicy side! Bathroom is down the steep steps. It’s dark. Credit card accepted. (Also posted on Google)

I stopped in for dinner before a show on Danforth. The service was very polite and attentive. The food was excellent. We ordered Rogan Josh chicken (customized for us), biryani, pakoras, garlic naan, and muligatawny. Everything was very flavourful and done right. Right down to the soup being served piping hot. Just as is traditional. By the time we were leaving, the place was hopping, and it's no wonder. There are plenty of Indian restaurants in the area, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you passed up on trying Sher-E-Punjab. By the way, check out all of my Google reviews. Almost 11,000,000 views!

Visited this place for dinner on 18 Jan, this was my first visit and I learnt there that this place had been there from 1975!!! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that. The owners were from Punjab and they delivered the taste of Punjab. The menu is not extensive and for vegetarians it is minimal just a couple of dishes, but what they have on the menu is scrumptious. We tried the Tandoori chicken & Sheekh kabab which were really good. But the best dish of the evening was their butter chicken.. it was just delicious. The service was good, the wait staff was very attentive.
