The Meat Department East — Local services in Toronto

The quality of the meat here is generally good, in my experience. Unfortunately I’ve found that over time the staff here have grown more surly, rude and unhelpful. I think an attitude adjustment is in order. If a customer asks for your advice on a cut of meat, quantity, or cooking, please be happy and helpful. Not everyone is an experience grillist or meat cutter. He last few times I’ve been to Meat Dept, you’ve made me want to walk right on out. Especially don’t act like a jerk who hates their job in front of my kids. Oh, and if I ask for a certain quantity in GRAMS, please do the conversion to pounds yourselves; don’t tell me that you only work in pounds! What’s THAT all...

The Meat Department has the absolute best bone broth for such a great price of $9. I have tried many places and they all fall short when comparing to their Heart Broth which is a mix of chicken and beef bones. It is super rich, and definitely not watered down making it a delight to drink and makes me feel great!

Their roast beef sandwich is also so delicious - stacked full of meat, mixed greens and a house spread on brioche bun.

The experience in the store was great, we were recommended a very tasty sandwich. We went outside to eat our food at a table positioned right outside of your store and were yelled at and berated by an employee of a nearby restaurant. I completely understand not wanting people to sit at your table but the way he approched us was beyond rude so it would be really nice if the two stores could find a way to section off this seating to avoid further rash arguments.
