3 stars is mainly because of the BBQ chicken disappointment and the unexpected spice in the STEW CHICKEN. Jerk chicken I can understand being a bit spicy but STEW ? I was not feeling the unnecessary spice in it and if I had known it was spicy I would not have ordered it because traditionally it is not made in this way. At least no where I have had stew chicken… and I’ve had A LOT of stew chicken.

As for the BBQ CHICKEN (I ordered the BOGO thru UberEats)… same thing, had I KNOWN it was going to be BREADED, I would not have selected the BBQ chicken. This is important information (breaded, spice level) your customers should know ahead of time. The bbq sauce itself is good, however I cannot enjoy it because I am not into breaded stuff so that was a waste of $$ I gave away.

Whenever I try a new Caribbean place I always try all the chicken I like (curry, stew, jerk, bbq) so get a good review. So here it is:

Jerk : MY FAVE. Not dry, good flavours, came hot and not too spicy- the stew chicken for some strange reason was actually speicier than the jerk.

Curry: Not bad, nothing to rave about though. Wasn’t feeling the love here tbh but atleast there was no surprise spiciness.

Stew: Flavour good but too spicy for my liking. I couldn’t figure out where in the Caribbean this place is from but I’ve had both Jamaican (mainly) AND West Indian style stew and none were spicy so this was an unpleasant surprise and now my kids will not eat it which is even more disappointing because I ordered for them too!

BBQ: Flavour good but complete waste for me and would never repeat due to the fact that it was BREADED. This was not mentioned in the description which would have made me avoid it.

Because of the lack of clarity (breaded chicken, spicy stew chicken) I unfortunately will not be returning to order or eat here because I don’t like surprises like this. Plantain was good and macaroni salad, although sweet was a nice accompaniment, especially because I needed to calm that spice down from the stew however if I am to order from somewhere I need to know certain things ahead of time so I am not wasting my money on something I won’t like. Transparency is important for things like unexpected spice or breaded meats when these things are very atypical. Hopefully this restaurant takes my feedback constructively and can do better in these aspects so nobody else has these unpleasant surprises in the future like I did!...

First off, It was SUNDAY, so I used UBEREATS to place my order given all the Tictoc Buzz🔥🔥👌🏾.. I ordered: 1fry chicken, rice & peas with Mac salad and Oxtail gravy-the order said Buy1&Get 1meat Free.. This applied.. So I asked for Side: BBQ Chicken/Fried Chicken which they did.

I didn't realize that the delivery address was set to my WORK ADDRESS so I cancelled and it charged me 40$ since restaurant started the order.. MEh!😒 🫣Not the case cause I cancelled on time but Watever.. I cancelled the order quick and REORDERED THE SAME MEAL to get delivered to my house..

Order arrived!! You can see the presentation for yourself, the BBQ chicken is an 8.9/10 flavour was nice and tender juicy - not what I was expecting... The Fry was nice and also seem to have a bit of sugar, it was a little greasy which chicken is lol also very moist. The rice n peas was just okay, soft no outstanding flavour.. While eating it, I like I could have put extra things in it to make it nice. Coconut milk, garlic, Scallion etc. The oxtail gravy was decent with a few of the broad beans from it which had a good flavour. My husband was given 1piece of the fried chicken and I ate one piece before took the photo of meal. My husband said the oil that fried the chicken didnt taste fresh🫣🫣🔥😳 and that it wasn't all that!! His words, not one lol.. As we agree though that the fried chicken was sweet.

My rating overall on this meal from SHERYL : RICE N PEAS = 7.5/10 BBQ CHICKEN = 8.9/10 FRIED CHICKEN = 7.9/10 - MACCARONI SALAD 0.0/10 IT didnt come, most likely they didn't have it. Can have sent a soda. Lol I was really was expecting better, but it wasn't that bad.. It was good, just thought it could have been better. Just my honest review for a person that is Jamaican and knows...

I just had the strangest experience here. I came here to support a local business — that, and it's also late, and I'm starving. I rarely ever review businesses (unless I receive EXTREMELY poor or outstanding service) and prefer to stay diverged from social media. This experience was possibly my worst at any restaurant.

I handed over $10 to a gentleman behind the counter for a food item I wanted — I was told to sit down thereafter (which I did). A few minutes later the gentleman walks back to the register and tells me he won't accept the money. There was a woman working at the back who wasn't saying much, but I kept asking what was going on and why they couldn't accept it; she finally also told me that she won't take it and that I should go to the Money Mart place to get change for it (for what??). I'm so confused, we still use paper $10 bills here. I was just denied service for no apparent reason.

This experience was even worse than if somebody had spit in my face. In my eyes, you treated me less than a scavenger animal, like a raccoon. I won't ever look at, let alone set foot in this place again.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I finally realized why they didn't serve me! I was wearing clothing that had paint stains on them. I'm not in a poor financial state — I like to humble myself — but is that a reason to not serve people who may be less...
