Starbucks Coffee Company — Restaurant in Toronto

We are a usual customer at this store because it is 24h. We always make the drive of 30-40m just to get here. Ordered 3 drinks around 3am on 12/12/2018. Was hesitant to order due to the barista that was on cash since she once gave us unuseful information and seemed like she didn't care about helping us. Ordered anyways for 3 venti fraps. Receive all drinks and the green tea frap was filled like a Grande. Apologized to barista and asked if she can make the drink again as we paid for a venti. Barista seemed upset. She remade order and it tasted like she put a lot of powder and just water. We decided to take it anyways and just fix it on our way home. Meanwhile my sister was waiting to order for over 10m and the manager of the store who was walking around cleaning the store looked at her and decided not to even attend to her order. My sister waited another 5m before getting her order taken from the same barista we had. We thought maybe they are just having an off day. While waiting for my sister's order I over heard the manager ask our barista if she was okay. The barista then said "yeah just this customer is stressing me out." The manager and barista both proceeded to keep talking about us and complaining about us as customers. This was shocking as I have never seen anything like this especially since we were still there and they were talking about us. Honestly if they do not like their job, then don't work there. You do not treat customers like this. The fact that the manager also was talking about us was just disgusting to see. Let's just say I'm disappointed in this type of service and can't believe that this is how Starbucks is being represented. Barista was a larger lady with short curly hair and brown complexion. The manager was a brown complexion and long black hair. I will make sure to post everywhere so people wouldn't have to experience the same way we have been treated. Worst part was I apologized to the barista before asking if she can make the green tea frap again. I didn't even yell or put out a type of tone to make her feel a way. Extremely Disappointed by Unprofessional Behavior at 150 Park Lawn Drive Location

I’ve been a loyal Starbucks customer for over 10 years—both in Canada and abroad—and have always appreciated the brand’s consistent quality and customer service. Unfortunately, my experience on May 16, 2025, at around 4:00 PM at the 150 Park Lawn Drive location in Etobicoke left me deeply disappointed and genuinely upset.

I placed a mobile order for a brownie through the app, which, notably, did not offer an option to warm the item. When I politely asked in-store if it could be warmed, the associate (I believe her name was Rowanna) responded with immediate hostility. She huffed, raised her voice, and said dismissively, “The sticker didn’t say warm.” When I explained that the app likely glitched and I had no control over it, her tone became increasingly combative.

She stated, “Well all the other orders have the warm option working,” as though this somehow justified her behavior. I remained calm and reiterated that I wasn’t blaming her, just making a simple request. When I noted that there was no need to raise her voice, she accused me of yelling (I wasn’t). I even asked if she was okay, and her response? “Are YOU okay?” The conversation ended with her telling me, “You’re ruining my day.”

To be told that I’m ruining an employee’s day simply for asking to warm a brownie is incredibly unprofessional and upsetting. I left the store genuinely shaken.

I’ve already written to Starbucks directly about this experience, but realized I should also leave a review to warn others. I don’t expect perfect service every time—but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. The attitude I experienced here was completely out of line.

Unless this is addressed seriously, I will not be returning to this location and will be reevaluating my relationship with Starbucks altogether.

I used to come to this Starbuck's all the time pre-2020 (ie. Before the covid lockdown insanity started). I visited this location for the first time post-covid yesterday, and let me just say I was stunned at the changes implemented by the elite all-knowing ruling class at the corporate level.

Firstly, let me just say that this complaint has nothing to do with the staff -- they are all sweethearts and very professional and friendly. My issue is with this bizarre corporate entity, and the way they think.

The changes I noticed at this location (which I was informed are mandated at all locations):

no more cream or sugar for customers, you must tell the cashier how you want your coffee no more nice comfy couch style chairs, just all wooden seats and tables now. no more display kiosk showing the various desserts and food items -- you look at the menu now, and try to visualize it on your own. do they still sell the apple fritter or blueberry scone? Nobody knows because there is no display anymore. want extra cream or sugar? You ask the cashier, because leaving sugar and cream on the self_service bar may increase the chance of transmitting covid according to the all knowing corporate know-it-all beaurocrats. not open 24 hours a day anymore

All in all, not the same Starbuck's experience anymore. Which is why I will not be stepping my foot into this or any other SB going forward.
