Edit to add: I appreciate the owner's response to me on here, and I adjusted my review. The food really was stellar and the service great, I'll definitely be back, but I did want to share my overall experience. My main issue was the amount of time it took to be addressed relative to the amount of staff on the floor + the poorly sized lids for hot drinks - however, thankfully, nothing I was drinking stained, so no compensation needed.

Ideally I’d put three and a half stars, but I can’t figure out a half star.

Food was great; both the savoury and sweet pies we had WERE something to write home about.

Loss of star because their hot drink lids do not fit their take out cups properly and we received no warning of this. Tea all over the front of my shirt and pants because of the poorly-fitting lid, not to mention the safety implications of having steaming hot liquids that aren’t properly capped and the recipient doesn’t know.

Phone use by staff was a little excessive considering one staff member was doing it all while the other two were busy texting, the one staff member had to finally flag a coworker down because they didn’t have enough hands to pack a throng of Uber eats orders and serve us all by themselves. I don’t mind waiting, but felt bad for that staff member.

Friendly staff otherwise, great service once we got it aside from...

Great pies and butter tarts but the cookies are a huge let down. The butter tart was delicious with a crisp crust and creamy filling with great consistency, almost toffee like. I still enjoyed the pecan pie slice even though it was not fresh and 50% off. However the cookies are really disappointing. They look good but taste kinda bland and plain, lacking both sweetness and saltiness. The Nutella cookie barely has any Nutella filling and wasn’t that sweet despite having a nice texture. The S’mores cookie was slightly better with a pleasant marshmallow centre. I honestly expected the cookies to be so much better. Don’t believe the hype.

My partner got iced coffee but they were out of 2% milk and sugar free vanilla at 1pm. I suggest you ask for light ice as they put a ton of ice in the iced coffee.

The service is pleasant and friendly. I like the design and decor of the interior. Plenty of seating which is nice. Overall slightly disappointed, I would check out the other dessert places in the area first before visiting again. Sorry Sweetie Pie, I really wanted to give you a higher score but I know I can make better...

A small pie house among so many other establishments inside the Distillery, but it draws attention because it is a small door on the outside, but a space full of flavors on the inside!

👩🏻‍💻Sweet Pie is run by a woman and has a peaceful, pleasant environment to have a coffee, eat a good piece of sweet or savory pie, and even enjoy ice cream.

The house has options for small individual pies, large pies or just pieces. It's difficult to look at the window and choose just one piece.

The place is pet friendly, with water for our friends and some snacks. During the winter the tables are just inside, but in the summer, some chairs are placed outside.

The store door is open all the time during opening hours, and they have a small level at the entrance door, which ends up hindering the passage of a wheelchair user or a customer with a walker or cane, so attention is needed. They don't have a menu in Braille, but they are always available to help customers.

It's really worth knowing: tip, the blueberry pie is...

Smashing IT! Isn't it nice when you FINALLY find a proper place that knows how make make PROPER DESSERTS! I have been searching high & low for a place that makes out of this world desserts! Simplicity is the key. When you use basic ingredients, you can never go wrong. Sweetie Pie is a cute little bakery in the historical heart of the Distillery District. Today, I tried the Butter Tart. The Butter Tart was so delicious. It was rich and decadent. The gooey filling just oozes out. You can taste the butter, and the crust is so flakey. The cherry pie was so good as well. You can taste the tartness of the cherry without it being overwhelming, and the crust was so good! Then there was the chocolate brownie. You can taste the chocolate and it was nice and cakey! Just the way I like it. The coffee was amazing as well. What impressed me the most as well was the outstanding customer service. Such nice people. Great place to stop for a great sweet treat.
