During my recent visit to Tabule Restaurant Bayview, I had the pleasure of being assisted by Joanne, our hostess, who provided us with an exceptional dining experience. Joanne's outstanding service truly exceeded our expectations and added a special touch to our evening.

From the moment we walked in, Joanne greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, making us feel valued and welcome. She immediately handed us the menu and demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the variety of dishes available. Joanne confidently answered all our questions and made helpful recommendations based on our preferences.

Throughout the evening, Joanne provided attentive care and demonstrated excellent customer service skills. She checked on us regularly without being intrusive and ensured that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Joanne also paid close attention to the timing of our orders, ensuring that they were promptly taken and delivered.

Would give this one star but I don’t want the seemingly incompetent manager (Kevin) to ruin it for the rest of the hard working staff.

I went there last week to celebrate a low key bday dinner w/ a friend. Kevin comes over to our table and offers her a refill of water, and forgets to offer me. We didn’t think anything of until something odd happens later:

I let my server know that I wasn’t happy with the soggy kanafe. (Side note: the flavours were good but the texture was off). She went to go see what she could do and Kevin (manager) came over. He asked what the issue was and I told him, and he shared that they only make one whole kanafe a day so, they have to reheat it. I said ok, but I wasn’t into it since I’m very familiar with this dish. He asked if I want to keep it or if he should take it back (note: it had already been split in half w/ my friend). I said he can take it back. So, he took my half back since my friend didn’t mind as it was her first time eating this. When the bill came I was being charged for it. I asked my server if she forgot to adjust it and she said “oh sorry I thought Kevin did so already”. Kevin came over again and said since my friend ate her half, he has to charge for it. He said “this what we serve and no one else has complained about it”. Ok, I thought then he should have let me know that he would have to charge either way prior to offering to take it back. OR he should have comped me for the half that he took back. Either way, it was very badly handled. He really pushed back over a ~$6 dessert(!) It was humiliating and insulting. For me, it wasn’t the money perse but the principle of the matter in terms of his tone and manner of handling it. Why argue with me over $3-6?

Additionally, if he didn’t already overlook me once before I wouldn’t have thought that maybe he was holding some kind of unconscious bias, but the sour handling of the dessert made me feel like he was discriminating against me, specifically.

"The Tabule of the Tabules" - if you are a vegetarian, you would love to visit this place if you are carnivorous, as well. This is a Mediterranean Cuisine establishment. I loved the ambiance of this location. It is by the main entrance to the Bayview Village Mall, south side. Just take a few steps as you enter and look to you right. Excellent service "Thank you, Sabrina!"... At this location, you will experience tranquility, great food, and a good view. All is very well presented and tasty overall. The prices are affordable for today's standards, based on the location. I had the Falafel dinner and the Tabule salad with a Cardamon Honey Latte. We went as a group of four, two couples we vegetarians and them not. Everyone enjoyed the food and every moment. We were all highly comfortable throughout our stay. In this review, I am presenting to you the foods we all ate, so you know what you can expect. I also took a couple of quick snips of the restaurant, but this is something I am not comfortable doing when people are present, hence the head masking. Inside the restaurant, you may hear a soft techno/new age style of background music that augments the ambiance of this establishment. Outside, the music is quite faint. While at this Tabule location, I noticed a number of people coming in for what appeared to be Turkish coffee and teas served in nice traditional good old-fashion tea-pots. I definitely recommend this Tabule location to you. Enjoy!

Last visit: 20231217 Tried the eggplant under the vegetarian section: simply delicious!!! Also had the Turkish mint tea in the little teapot. Outstanding, but be very, very careful.
