I usually go to the VP location, which I love. I don't mind the Morningside one but my family has complained that the fish doesn't taste the same as the VP location. I'm not sure, because apparently they get their product from there.
I am annoyed with the Morningside location because I checked to see the hours of operation before heading over to get the breakfast. Hours said 10 - 7 so I waited in the car until 10. Only to find no one there and when I finally saw someone at 10:10 she told me they weren't open. They changed their hours in the summer 2022 to an opening of 11. It is now February 2023 and they failed to update their hours on the website. I went there for breakfast, which is advertised but they don't open until 11? That doesn't make sense especially since the grocery store they are located in is open.
My husband always complains about the food I bring from this location but I try to give it a chance. That was my last one. I'm not a foodie anyway so I didn't notice the difference from this one and VP but I'll stick with the VP location...
Read moreIf you're craving authentic Filipino comfort food, Tagpuan Restaurant is a must-visit. The moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a warm, homey atmosphere that reminds you of gatherings back home. The staff are friendly and accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable.
We tried the sinigang na baboy, lechon kawali, and kare-kare. all of them were full of flavor and served with generous portions. The sinigang had the perfect balance of sour and savory, while the lechon kawali was crunchy on the outside and tender inside. The bagoong served with the kare-kare was spot on!
Prices are reasonable and the service was quick. It’s a great place to eat with family or friends and enjoy traditional dishes that truly hit the spot.
Highly recommended for anyone missing the taste of home or curious to try...
Read moreOrdered the Longsilog, I get a cup of stale white rice, 2 unseasoned sunny side eggs and one small link of longganisa sausage. The sausage was delicious but at that price point it is ridiculous. The whole meal cost less than 2 dollars to make and quite frankly a meal you make at home when you have nothing else in the fridge or financially struggling. To charge customers 14 dollars for such low quality standard of food when there are so many other options in the city absolutely blows my mind. A insult to other small business restaurants who make much better food at the same price point. Just buy the sausages in fusion frozen section and avoid this place completely. If i could give this place no stars I would,...
