The Curry Pad Thai at Thai Elephant Restaurant is a delightful twist on the traditional Pad Thai dish. Each ingredient was expertly cooked, ensuring that the flavors remained distinct yet melded beautifully.

I have always ordered Thai Elephant but through delivery. Finally one day I decided to dine in with my partner. I had been raving about this place for awhile. He tried it and understood why it's my favourite. Everything is SO fresh and tasty. Honestly, SO well priced too. Yes it's not a shiny swanky restaurant like some of the new places on Queen... but it's QUEEN!! The district is known for being eclectic, different and approachable.
BUT..... besides this being a great restaurant, it's Harry (I think that was his name) who made our experience 5 stars!!! I am not sure if he is the owner. If he isn't, he definitely fooled me because his level of care and service was so heart warming. He was super attentive and genuinely wanted to hear how our experience was. He invited us back as if he was opening up his family home to us and wanting to share food. I am Italian and food is our LOVE language. He also gifted us their spicy oil. IT'S literally CRACK!!
The cherry on top, we left and thanked him his hospitality. We were walking to our car when we noticed we almost got a parking ticket. Thankfully the officer let us off... but just as we did... out ran HARRY!!
"GUYS GUYS GUYS!!! Don't park there next time. Please!! you will get a ticket. Park over there...."
how f*ucking sweet!! lol we were gone out of his establishment YET he still ran out to make sure we were looked after.
People buy products/services and experiences from people like they. We "buy" the people and their stories. There are 8,000 restaurants in Toronto. Thank you Harry for going 10 steps above what was asked of you. You are a GEM and I will continue to make Thai Elephant my go to Thai in the...
Read moreI arrived at 5pm, off peak hour. It took them a while to greet me and seat my party, when the place had only one other customer.
The bathrooms are broken and dirty.
Staff is friendly but doesn't understand what great customer service. I mentioned I was vegan and my partner is vegetarian. She informed us there's fish is the curry. She said it's okay to have some fish oil as a vegetarian, it's only a little bit... most people who are vegetarian eat fish. I'm like no, that's not true, we don't eat fish. I don't appreciate being told how to be a vegetarian when I have been my ENTIRE life. She continues to tell us it's only a little bit, as if we're being picky about it. She wasn't respectful of our dietary restrictions and wanted us to just be okay with fish oil in out food. We asked for a moment to review the menu. At which point I hear her repeating our conversation to the kitchen, saying again it's just a little fish oil but not sure what the issue is. We moved past and offered the cold Spring Rolls and Stir-fry, which didn't have fish oil. The cold Spring rolls were bad, greens in it were bitter and the dipping sauce tasted like it's from a bottle, just too sweet. The stir fry was good, but not great. I don't think I'll be returning after that ignorance and lack of respect for my dietary restrictions. You've undermined me as a vegetarian. You should learn that there are many variations to being a vegetarian and none...
