What a treat, a very creative play (the Waltz) in an awesome theatre (my 1st time here... I'll be back again!) The Waltz captures the bonding of two teens, who meet in a backroads Saskatchewan cabin by chance and find so much in common. Anthony Perpuse ('Romeo') is driving cross Canada from Toronto (lots of Scarborough references 🙃) to UBC for school. And Ericka Leobrera ('Beatrice') has traveled the world and is while quite brighr, feels dwarfed by her sisters accomplishments. Lots of humor too, like correctly pronouncing Toron-TA and saskatchew-WEN ... and Beatrice when she first learns Romeo's name, jokes about it 'as Romeo and Juliet'... Then again when Romeo says his nickname is RJ 😉 The theatre is just 2 blocks south on Bathurst from Queen. Lots of street parking and TTC access.

I have been to this theatre numerous times over the years primarily with Fringe Festival activities and today with Next Stage. The event was called Strange and Unusual. This was a fascinating 90 minute run through a number of activities that made one question one's beliefs vis a vis the world we live in and how we perceive it. A really fun way to spend a really cold afternoon.

This is was my first time visiting a theatre like that and that was amazing! Actors are so passionate and funny, play was hilarious and all people in the room were laughing all the time. Great atmosphere, will visit other events as well

Went to see two shows for the Toronto Next Stage festival this weekend - A Bear Awake in Winter and Ga Ting. Two very different and thought-provoking shows.

Bear delved into the social responsibility of when to intervene and that are are always two sides to a story, it was beautifully done and acted by a wonderful cast; a wonderfully balance between serious and funny.

Ga Ting was entirely different and intense throughout and looks into the complexity of gay relationships in a traditional Asian family.

Factory theatre is very nice and makes for an intimate theatre experience. The volunteers and staff for the Next Stage Festival were all knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! Even though we were a bit late, they accommodated us as quickly as they could which was very much...

200 comfortable seats are in this older building with renovated theatre area. Stage is large and well lit with a decent sound system. Wheelchairs would have limited mobility here, even with a recently installed elevator. Washrooms are clean and adiquate . Easily reached by public transit and only has street parking or public parking lots nearby. Staffed to a great extent by friendly volunteers who demonstrate a personal interest in the theatre. The play I saw recently had surprisingly good actors and actresses and was interesting and very well presented. My wife and I shall surely return to this...
