I went today for brunch and I ordered the parma perfection. Unfortunately, it was far far away from perfect.
The description says the dish comes with grilled tomato and balsmaic reduction, but I got thick slices of fresh tomato and no balsamic at all as you can see in the picture.
I complained right away about the tomato because I don't eat it fresh, but I didn't mention the balsamic. The waiter called the waitress who seemed to be also the supervisor as she was the one handling complaints and payments. Although she offered to bring me a new dish, she replied: "the tomato looks grilled"!
Well, if it is grilled, why are you offering me another one? What exactly are you gping to change?
Then I got the new one again without balsamic. The eggs were okay, but the fries were probably the worst I have ever had. After I paid I told the waitress that the fries were over cooked and more like chips than home fries.
She replied, "yeah it is a bit crunchy, the pieces come in different sizes so some of them are crunchier than others. Next time let us know that you want them softer."
Apparently, this lady lacks the bare minimum of customer service skills. She kept replying to my comments as if I was the one to blame! Not the chef or herself. She didn't apologize. And before that she was unable to see that the dish was missing the balsamic dressing.
I'm giving 2 stars mainly because the waiter was trying his best to address my concerns, which deserves recognition. And I wish he sees my feedback. Thanks to him.
Obviously, I don't recommend this place. And there won't be anotber time to try the "softer"...
Read moreThis was one of our favorite breakfast place until today. We have been visiting Homeway would every other weekend with weather permitting as you can imagine due to current circumstances. Unfortunately this morning we came around 11.10 am to get at a table were told there is a wait list for 20 or 30 min so, we put our name down and provided our mobile number. We have decided to walk around and come back after 45 min later we received the message that our table was finally ready so, just to make sure we called the restaurant to reconfirm because originally the restaurant was delayed over almost 20 min of the original time slot. When we called and spoke to a gentleman made sure that we are on the way for our table arrived around 12 noon and ask for our table the response was not only awkward was also unprofessional as if we were making up a story I have told the host we called to make sure if our table was still available that’s why we ended up coming back for our table. All of sudden another female waiter got involved in our story and some other tall gentleman also started to occupy our personal space as if we are causing some trouble which indeed became so intimidating to our family where we also have our newborn in a stroller with us. In the end we are humble and polite people, which were treated as if we are making up a story to enjoy our weekend with my husband and I with our newborn. It’s unfortunate that even after the fact that the host decided to give us a table as if he was doing us a favor...sorry but no thanks we will find another restaurant to treat us with dignity...
Read moreThis was once my favorite brunch place until this Thursday. I will never again return.
It was not busy. Water and coffee took 10+ minutes to get to our table. I ordered the classic Sinful Benedict, done medium, with a side of sausage.
One egg was divine, proof that the Homeway's classic recipes are still fundamentally good.
The other was practically hardboiled. My sausages were so dry and dessicated my knife could not cut through them. If someone told me they were prepared on Monday I would not have been surprised.
My partner's oatmeal with fruit added came without brown sugar OR cinnamon, with a side dish of fruit completely unsuited to be mixed into oatmeal. An orange slice? A pineapple slice? 3 blackberries?
At no point did our server even ask us a single question. I had no opportunity to ask for fresh sausages, nor my partner for brown sugar. Eventually, she just mixed pre-packaged jam into her bland steel cut oatmeal.
At the end, another server offered to take the sausages off our bill when she noticed they were barely touched. However, I see now that our server did NOT take the sausages off our bill. This combined with the quality of the meal, and the complete lack of care about whether it was edible or not, means I will never return to the Homeway again. I was embarrassed to have convinced my partner...
