I’ve been coming here for years, and enjoy the old time atmosphere. But $17 for a small basket of wings, now without any veggies or dip is outrageous. The Old Sod used to have $10 baskets of wings (see old menu pic below) which included celery, carrots and dipping sauce. I would not have ordered the wings had I known the price and that they’d deleted the veggies and dip. Also they’ve deleted the mild, med and hot options, it’s now take what you get. On top of this I ordered a basket of fries for $4 and I swear you get more fries in a medium cup at McDonald’s. I appreciate that ingredient costs have increased, but I can’t justify $17 for a small basket of wings. The whole point of going to dive bars is to have a few pints with your mates, listen to some tunes and enjoy some cheap bar food. I fear the Old Sod has lost its way.

The Old Sod one of the top Taste of the kingsway venues. My wife and her girlfriend enjoyed the afternoon show . We returned later with friends to a great atmosphere of friendly staff and nice patrons . The owner Tyler can really host and rock the house he was awesome on stage! Best kept secret in the kingsway for a fun night in West end Toronto .Music/food/ drinks/Dance/ Old Sod on Bloor has it all covered and a short walk and on the bloor line Exit Grenview/Royal york . Thanks for a fun night Tyler will definitely be back! George The Kingsway

Great bar, not always the busiest along bloor but it is the favourite among friends. Never have eaten there but the drinks are fairly priced. Love music nights are always packed and very lively as well as the karaoke nights. Always see some old friends or schoolmates then whenever I go. Would recommend checking it out for a pint or two or to add it for a pub crawl destination. Good location along bloor, very close to ry subway.

A Delightful Journey to "The Old Sod"

Rating: ★★★★★

Review: The Old Sod is an absolute gem tucked away in the heart of the city. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to a world of warmth, charm, and unparalleled hospitality. This cozy establishment truly captures the essence of an Irish pub, creating an authentic and inviting atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere.

The first thing that struck me was the incredible attention to detail in the pub's design. From the rustic wooden furniture to the beautiful stained glass windows, every element has been carefully chosen to evoke a sense of tradition and nostalgia. The cozy nooks and crannies, adorned with vintage photographs and artifacts, add an extra layer of character to the space.

The staff at The Old Sod deserve special mention for their exceptional service. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, they go above and beyond to make you feel like a valued guest. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you are treated with the same level of warmth and hospitality. They effortlessly create a welcoming environment that instantly puts you at ease.

Now, let's talk about the food and drinks. The Old Sod offers a mouthwatering selection of Irish classics that will satisfy even the most discerning palate. The menu features traditional dishes like shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and corned beef and cabbage, all prepared with the utmost care and using the finest ingredients. Each bite was a burst of flavor and a testament to the chef's skill.

Of course, no visit to The Old Sod would be complete without sampling their impressive drink offerings. From a rich and creamy Guinness to an extensive selection of Irish whiskeys, their drink menu is a connoisseur's dream. The skilled bartenders are more than happy to recommend the perfect pairing for your meal or guide you through their impressive range of spirits.

Beyond the exceptional food, drinks, and atmosphere, The Old Sod also hosts live music performances that add to the pub's vibrant ambiance. The traditional Irish tunes and lively performances create an unforgettable experience that will have you tapping your feet and clapping along.

In conclusion, The Old Sod is a true treasure in the city's dining scene. With its authentic ambiance, top-notch service, and delectable fare, it is a place that will leave you longing to return time and time again. Whether you're looking for an intimate dinner, a casual night out with friends, or a lively gathering, The Old Sod is the perfect destination. Prepare to be swept away on a delightful journey to...

I cannot rave enough about the Old Sod Pub! This hidden gem is an absolute haven for the LGBTQ+ community, offering an inclusive and welcoming environment that celebrates diversity. As someone who is passionate about supporting establishments that champion equality and acceptance, I am over the moon with my experiences here.

Now, let's get to the highlight of my week: drag nights every Thursday! These lively evenings are an absolute blast, as the Old Sod Pub invites local drag queens to grace the stage with their fabulous performances. The energy in the air is infectious, and the entertainment is top-notch. Whether you're a seasoned drag enthusiast or new to the scene, these nights are guaranteed to leave you wanting more!

Speaking of wanting more, the Old Sod Pub truly goes above and beyond during Pride Month. Their month-long discount of 50% off is an incredible gesture that shows their genuine commitment to supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. It's refreshing to see a business not only embrace Pride Month but also actively participate in making it a memorable experience for all.

In addition to their exceptional events and promotions, the Old Sod Pub serves as a hub for meeting other queer individuals. This place exudes a sense of community, making it the perfect spot to connect with like-minded people. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you'll find yourself surrounded by friendly faces and open hearts.

After the vibrant Pride Parade, my friends and I always make it a point to head over to the Old Sod Pub to continue the celebration. It has become our go-to place for post-parade festivities, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is electric, the staff is friendly, and the joy is contagious. Trust me when I say, this place knows how to keep the Pride spirit alive!

I wholeheartedly recommend the Old Sod Pub to anyone seeking a safe and inclusive space to relax, enjoy amazing drinks, and revel in the beauty of drag performances. It's so much more than just a pub; it's a beacon of love, acceptance, and celebration. Thank you, Old Sod Pub, for being an incredible supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and for providing us with unforgettable experiences. I can't wait to come...

So we got 4 spiced rum and cokes all made at the same time . Half way through a couple of us had realized how watered down they were. We brought this to the bartenders attention showing her that all four drinks were different colours and if made at the same time they shouldn't be. After this another person in our party of 4 had ordered 4 Heineken bottles which we received and as my friend was paying, the options on the machine were 15%, 18%, & 20%. I had pushed the option for custom amount after tipping pretty big on the first 4 ( disappointing) rum and cokes. The lady to the right of my friend said "I don't really think that's your button to push" I said I came here with these guys and we can push what we want, we are all tipping together. So she said who are you to decide what he tips? I later found out she was the bartenders sister. I asked the bartender about the drinks that were all different colours but made at the same time, the bartender said I do this every day. I didn't make them different..... I (the customer) is clearly wrong. The sister at the bar kept conversing with my friends about this delema. Stating that they are mistaken. She was asking me what business I had chosing my friends tip, I asked what business is this of yours at all? I was dismissed and then treated even more poorly by...
