I called on a Friday to place an order for a Sunday late lunch for 12 people. I ordered a family pack w ribs, chicken, 3 fish fillets and 2 orders of shrimp Pattie’s plus hot and mild sauce.
Upon arrival, the person working had no idea about the order (not his fault). He informed that he could quickly pack up food for me, but there were no rib’s available for Sundays. I was in a bind as I had family waiting back at my house for food so I agreed and let him pack up chicken, rice, potatoes, fish fillets and shrimp Pattie’s. Andrew, the person working, did a wonderful job packing up the order and being quick for me to get back to my family. He was helpful and kind. The service from him could not have been better. The 3 stars are solely for him.
However, The bill was a few dollars more expensive since it was no longer a family meal and I had to pay for hot sauce on top of this. This was not a problem, however the person working did forget my hot sauce, again not a problem since it was only 3$, just more unfortunate since it’s usually the best part.
While the chicken, rice and potatoes was delicious it was a little upsetting to see the fish was frozen from basically a grocery store and just place in the deep fryer with no lemon.
While I was planning on returning because the food was great, I don’t think I will be given managements lack of response. The week following the Sunday I had called to inform them of the situation since it was annoying that I had called ahead and my order was not ready and that there were no ribs available. Upon calling I was informed to email the owner with my information. Since then I have called twice, emailed, and sent a WhatsApp message. I still have not heard anything from their end after almost two weeks which is annoying and quite frustrating.
I really hope there is a way to rectify this issue and it is unfortunate that I had to post this review which I would not have done if I was responded to in a prompt manner. After working in the restaurant business for 10 years, this is exactly how business lose...
Read moreWe hosted an event at our shop and I placed an order from The Portuguese Chicken Guys. Let me tell you.. this was the most mouthwatering Portuguese chicken dish that we have ever tasted! The chicken was perfectly seasoned, full of authentic flavors and spices and grilled to perfection! One of the standout characteristics of Portuguese chicken is its crispy, golden-brown skin. The skin is packed with flavor which adds a delightful crunch to every single bite. The meat itself was incredibly tender and juicy, and each bite you'll be hit with a burst of flavors, including the smokiness from the grill, the heat from the spices, and the savory richness of the chicken itself. AMAZING!
For our sides we had the authentic rice which was perfectly seasoned with herbs and spices, making it a fragrant and delicious complement to the chicken. The traditional round potatoes which were also delicious, a beautiful crispy exterior and a fluffy, tender interior that was bursting with flavor. YUM!! To finish off the meal, we had the traditional Portuguese Tart which is a definite must-try! A creamy custard tart that is both sweet and savory, with a flaky crust that is dusted with cinnamon. SO GOOD!!
Overall, this entire meal experience from The Portuguese Chicken Guys was probably the best meal that this city has to offer. The way the meal was prepared and delivered truly shows the love and passion for each and every meal that is made. We will be ordering regularly as a business as well as telling our community how amazing the Portuguese...
Read moreI ordered from Too Good To Go- an app that works with local restaurants and sells their over abundance food, towards the end of the day at a cheaper price so it doesn't go to waste. I purchased a $7.99 surprise bag which they advertised the value of the food as $24 each. I expected a value of $48 worth of food since I bought 2 bags. I was given 2 of what they advertise on their menu as their "1/4 chicken dinner" which is literally $7.99. This is really sketchy of you guys to do. I gave the worker a look when he handed me the bag I saw him pack, and the look he gave me in return made it clear he knew exactly what he was doing giving me $18 worth of food after advertising it as $48 In value. I wouldnt have bought from this store on the Too Good To Go app if I had known I wasn't going to get the correct value's worth. You're taking advantage of those using this app, knowing we're tight on $$, which is why most people use it to begin with. Luckily I wasn't expecting to feed more than 2 people, or else I would have really been in a knot. I've sent a report to the Too Good To Go customer service. I liked your food, but I don't like how you're robbing people blindly. The moral ethics are really showing here and I sadly won't be supporting this business...
