The Upper Deck — Restaurant in Toronto

Love, love, love this place! No matter if you are boating, biking, or walking, this place is worth checking out. It's located at the Toronto Island Marina, on The Toronto Center Island. We have been going for years, and it is a must-see every time we visit the island. It's a laid-back kinda place with good music playing, great food, and service. They also have bands play, I believe, on Friday and Saturday nights, which we haven't had the opportunity to check out yet, as we just found out about it on our last visit, but I am sure it would be fun, it looks like they have enough area to even bust a move or too, lol. Although this is part of the Marina, so mostly this is to accommodate boaters who dock there, they are always welcoming to us land lovers. The bar has a small and very nicely decorated seating area for those who don't wish to sit out on the patio and the kitchen and another small seating area for eating located in a building next to it. The washrooms are located in a separate building behind the main bar and kitchen buildings. The best thing of all when visiting this Marina is, of course, the awesome views of Toronto it's self. First time here and came during covid 19 but stage 3 so dine in was available. Average sized bar and the place was decently full. Came with my special friend and initially we were told no seats available but then we found one ourselves. Sat down and probably waited about 20 min before server came to take out orders. Waited for the our drinks for about another 10 min, while everyone around us were getting their food and having a great time. After about 20 min after getting our drinks the server came and brought our appetizer the fried calamari. Then after about 10 min, the server comes over and says oh what else did you guys order? Are you kidding me? When you punched in our appetizer you didn't think about the rest of our order?? Why didn't you ask us earlier like when you brought the appetizer??? Total waste of time. No one else in the place was having any issues but us! Very interesting that we were the only Asian people in the entire place. Definitely not good vibes here people, I will never return as there are a couple other bars and restaurants on the island. First of all, the food was terrible. I ordered a salad with sauce I got 0 sauce and they said that is how it is supposed to be. Second of all. The fries were so soggy that we ordered with a side of salad which was also terrible like the fries, also don’t hesitate to be tricked by the menu they describe it as the best thing ever even though it taste horrible. The chicken jalapeño bowl was so terrible it almost made me throw up. Although this dinning was not close to delightful they were however nice enough to refund the chicken jalapeño bowl, also they burgers were burnt and they were almost impossible to eat as it made me gag looking at it. Finally we also ordered chicken in a baguette and it unexpectedly turned out to be soggy chicken in a hot dog bun which was also soggy.
