The Bun Cha Ca here full of MSG and not clean when they make the food. They use the same rag/towel to wipe everything (cross contamination). Do not eat here or buy anything here unless you want to get food poisoning, want super slow service, ugly interior and like to waste time chit chatting with the lady owner/cashier who works there with a North Vietnanese/Bac Ky accent.
Would NOT come back or buy anything here again (take out or pick up). The lady who owns this place and is the seller/cashier chit chat way too much, super slow bad service and waste people time. I went in to buy eggs and told her clearly what I want to buy & pay quickly as I have my baby and mom waiting in the car in the freezing cold temperature today. She keep chit chatting, try to sell other items to everyone that is inside (up selling) and wasting everyone time. I had to tell her to hurry up, say no many times to her upselling and tell her to give me the eggs that I bought since she took my $$ already. It took her 15-20 minutes to give me my eggs since she keeps chit chatting with another customer & wasting everyone's time. I have never had such super slow & bad service from a small Vietnamese shop with lousy and noisy owners/workers inside. She told me to come back next time for Bun Cha Ca. No thanks. Never coming back again! I dont want to my meal to be full of MSG, get food poisoning, and have my baby to get sick waiting outside too long in the car again when I do any pick up or take out!! Never come back again ever!!
The Pho Dau Bo next door give way better service, super fast for pick up orders & super efficient (no chit chatting & wasting...

The casual ambience certainly brings me a sense of nostalgia, on top of the bowl of Bun Cha Ca featuring a light tomato-based broth with a thicker rice noodle that has more chew than traditional pho noodles. The standouts are the fried fish cakes, bouncy and fragrant with dill, adding a delightful texture and bite of umami. The beef in betel leaf, salmon filet, a generous portion of fresh dill, elephant ear stalk, tomatoes, water celery, cilantro, scallions and fried onions create a symphony of flavours and aromas. If that isn't enough, you can customize each bite with a side of bean sprouts, lettuce, banana blossom, chilis, cabbage and lime.
Their sticky rice dumplings are a layered experience, first the glutinous sticky rice, with a layer of mochi underneath, encompassing a fragrant filling of mung beans and minced pork seasoned with some...
Read moreWas fantastic the first few times I went to this restaurant, but quality seems to have gradually gone down since. The interior is not the most pleasing to look at, and the tables and chairs seem rather standard. The tv is not too big, and you may have to sit closer to it to admire whatever happens to be playing. The staff are very friendly. The food itself can be an issue; during my first few visits, the food was superb. In the next few, the quality was not so great; food was not as hot and the amount of tofu and other things lessened. More recently, the food made my friend and I sick and I do not expect to...
