Jennie’s Diner and Bakery provides a delightful journey back to the 1950s with its charming ambiance, complete with retro decor and classic tunes playing in the background. The cozy booths and vintage memorabilia create a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly transports patrons to a bygone era.
While the ambiance is undoubtedly a highlight, the food at Jennie’s Diner and Bakery leans towards the familiar side, offering typical diner fare without any particularly unique or innovative dishes. From burgers and fries to milkshakes and pies, the menu covers all the classic favorites, but it lacks the creativity or unexpected twists that some diners may seek.
However, what sets Jennie’s apart is the exceptional service provided by the waitstaff. The friendly and attentive servers go above and beyond to ensure that customers feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout their dining experience. Their genuine enthusiasm and anticipation add an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal.
In summary, Jennie’s Diner and Bakery offers a nostalgic trip down memory lane with its 50s-themed ambiance and friendly service. While the food may be typical and lacking in culinary surprises, the overall experience is enjoyable, making it a worthwhile spot for a classic meal with a side...
Read moreMy children and I used to eat breakfast here occasionally and the breakfast food always made us sick! It was so greasy. 😖 We haven’t gone back in years, but recently my husband and I ordered two poutines and the fries were undercooked, like they were still hard in the middle, I ended up getting sick from their food again and the gravy had way too much pepper!! They also add pickles to every dish. 😒 We called to inform them of their fries and they told us to bring the poutines back so they could give us new ones. Unfortunately we live out of town so we didn’t have the convenience to go back. It was my husband’s first experience and he said it was gross and the service sucked. We called ahead of time and we still ended up waiting 20 minutes inside for 2 poutines. The only thing I’d ever recommend from that place is the cupcakes which are unfortunately not gluten-free. 🙄 I don’t think we will ever be...
Read moreSome colleagues and I were in town for a conference, and selected Jennie’s because we noticed on their website that they had a vegan and gluten-free menu, which meets the needs of my numerous food sensitivities. To find a restaurant in small-town Alberta that considers so many alternative dietary requirements was a pleasant surprise. My colleagues ordered from the main menu, while I ordered a black bean and rice burger with salad. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and it was a relief knowing that what I was eating was safe for my body. I was even able to find a vegan and gluten-free dessert. The atmosphere of the restaurant is “50s diner,” which was fun and casual. The servers on the evening that we were there were very young, occasionally needing a second reminder about a request, but they were very keen, enthusiastic, and polite. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through or...
