Egg Roll King Restaurant Inc — Restaurant in Town of Bridgewater

I really tried hard to enjoy dining out here tonight but the service was just disappointing.

"Greeted" at the door kinda and sat right at the worst table possible...so much noise and traffic by us. Our server walked to our table and snapped "need more time?" ...not even a hello, how are you doing, NO greeting. So that was a terrible way to start.

So we got our food. Looked good but was kinda cold...the sign says no heat lamps used but it had obviously sat for a few minutes before being brought out by a different server. The flavor was good in the cherry sauce, enjoyed the rice but the rest was blah. The beef and broccoli had the stock cut up in it...ewww. We got slings and they were mixed differently and had a weird taste. I was done eating by the time a check in was done, so no point mentioning anything wrong then...though we were walked by plenty on the way to their cash behind us.

Anyway, won't be back as I just couldn't get over how rude the service was. They obviously know how to be nice as both servers were pleasant to their regulars. And it wasn't like I was rude...my friend and I were very polite and friendly and...

I really liked their egg rolls and the chow mein was good. The shrimp fried rice passable. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant clean. My order was take out which I made in person. I was told my order would be ready in 30 minutes. I came back 30 minutes later and was told it would be ready in a few minutes. Well a few minutes ended up being 30 + minutes and waiting at the front of the restaurant with people coming and going while trying to avoid each other because of covid, not to mention it was a bitterly cold night to be standing by a door that was opening and closing wasn't a pleasant experience. Had the waitress told me I had to wait another 30 minutes I would have gone and done some shopping or waited in my car where I could stay warm. The waitresses were quoting all kinds of wait times for people placing takeout orders, anything from 40 minutes to an hour. I get it that it's a busy time of year but passing off half an hour as "a few minutes " didn't impress me. Had I been told the wait time was going to be an hour I would have been okay with that. I don't think...

We started to eat at Egg Roll King 2 years ago. We would order food about once a month/6 weeks or so. BUT !!! I am sorry to say that tonight we ordered our usual food, and we were told that they no longer make Soo Guy OR 🍋 Lemon Chicken!!! So our usual delicious dinner was transformed into a disappointing meal, at best. Chicken balls were substituted for 🍋 Lemon Chicken & tempura sweet n sour chicken was substituted for Soo Guy. YUCH!!! The Ginger Beef was ho hum blah.... it came with a container of spicy sauce, which should've been cooked WITH the beef!!!! Not only that, the price for the Chicken balls was $21.50. & the menu still has 🍋 Lemon Chicken and Soo Guy listed, both online and on the 'new' paper menu, for $16.50. .... They are NOT ECONOMICAL, ..

We won't be back. Unless they reinstate what WE want to eat, 🍋 Lemon Chicken and Soo Guy, even if it's more $. So, I guess we'll be going back to Koh's. (We ate there once.) They still have 🍋 Lemon Chicken & Soo Guy, even though it isn't as good as it "Used to Be" at egg roll...
