On Wednesday the 24th of September, I took my mom out for a nice dinner at my favourite place in Cochrane, The Half Hitch.ā We had a young waitress that had dark brown curly hair. We sat nearest the entrance which was cold. She was rude and had an attitude from the start, for no reason. I mean she came with a bad attitude. Everything was extremely slow! From the time she came to take our drink order she took forever maybe 15-20 mins before even talking to her. My mom ordered a Virgin Caesar, no ice not too spicy. She is sweet and asked very nicely. I tried it and it was very spicy, filled with ice and was extremely obviously watered down. Probably had 1/3 actually with Clamato juice just sitting at the bottom. I had to talk to another server cause ours was nowhere to be seen forever again, and then we got another drink. It was completely different with dark red juice, cause thatās the colour that it is when itās not been heavily watered down. The Parmesan cheese and garlic wings had bit of cheese slices on top of it instead of powdered. Kinda strangeā¦Feels like they ran out and tried to pass this off as normally how itās served. I was so feed up after forever waiting at the end that I had to walk to the bar which she was working at the same time, and asked for the bill cause we wanted out of there. She just acted like she didnāt care and didnāt want to be there. What a disappointing experience. And no apologies throughout it all. With no admission of doing anything wrong. I mean if she didnāt want to be there it couldnāt have been more obvious and shouldnāt have been working there. I have planned 2 evenings out there in the near future and am concerned about more of the same. I think management should be aware of this and the Cochrane community also be aware too. Her decisions ruined our...

This place has changed and I have been here quite a few times now, the food has declined quite a bit, which is kinda sad. It's very basic menu, the fine touches they made in the beginning is no longer there. Today i ordered their buffalo chicken dip and it was so salty! I could not finish it and we have been going to their indoor patio for awhile now cause it's dog friendly. We have a small 12 lb dog and we put her on a chair due to she has food allergies so she's on a strict food diet. We don't want her getting food off the floor in case people drop stuff. Today we were told they did not allow dogs on the chair. I understand the reasoning. We just don't want her grabbing food from the ground. So, as of today, we won't be heading back there anymore. There are a lot of places they dont mind at all. We will be going there from now on.
We came here for lunch and it was a windy day, so I did not get to sit in their nice patio. But we ordered a very good lunch. I ordered their Chicharon which was served warm and perfectly spiced...Addictive! I then ordered the 1881 Burger served with bacon jam! (Need I say more?) My friend ordered a Caesar salad and this version was good served with fried capers! Fried Capers!! We also ordered Mac N' Cheese. Which was good but we felt the cheese was lacking, which I feel most restaurants do. I also ordered on tap their craft beer Fire N' Fury Red Ale, which was a very nice clean beer. Overall the experience was great the wait staff was awesome! The establishment was cozy and a great gathering...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1st experience wasn't great. Ordered take-out through the app. Tried to order GF, and had to change my order- no problem, hostess was nice. Waiting outside for the order, can hear the kitchen staff complaining about the gluten free order. 35 minutes later, food arrived and one meal was missing fries. Went back in and told the hostess, she happily got them. 45 minutes has passed, and we finally have our entire take out order! We decided since we could not make our plans because of waiting for a 45 min take out order to just eat our meal on the patio. Hostess was sweet and gave us waters. Food was good, but not worth $45 and 45 min wait to eat it. I complained to the hostess who applologized, and was sweet, it wasn't her fault. I called after to complain about the wait, and the number is forwarded to voice-mail, which isn't set up! Suggestions: Tell your kitchen staff to keep comments about customers quiet if the door is open to the parking lot. Specify the gluten free on the menu to make it easier to identify what exactly can be made gluten free. For example, brisket is marinaded in beer, can't order, even though there is a GF bun option. Give your hostesses a raise, they are very sweet and tried to help. Suggest getting a manager to ensure we left happy. Just because we don't yell at staff and are polite, doesn't mean we are ok with how this 1st...
