The Beerded Dog Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Town of Essex

Giving it two stars instead of one because the beer was delicious but sadly the food menu did not have any options for me as a vegan besides fries. Closest thing I could find was you can substitute a beyond burger for any burger on their menu for $2 extra. But the problem is all of their burgers contain extra meat and cheese and the only buns they have are brioche (which has egg). So I chose the plainest burger I could find, had to ask for no bacon or cheese or bun (so essentially it was a patty with pickles and ketchup wrapped in lettuce) and I still was charged the $2 extra for the beyond patty (?? Make it make sense!). Service was also pretty slow but we did have a larger party and our waitress seemed new so I wasn’t too bothered by that. Sadly I would not recommend this place for food if you are vegan but maybe just come for the drinks! Would love to come back and try again if they offer a couple of decent vegan food options...

First visit today around 1pm. I started with the Barktoberfest Pilsner and had the Dirty Dog Stout for desert. Both very delicious beers. In between I ordered the Bearded Dog burger with house fries, it was the best burger I’ve had in a long time, piping hot, juicy and delicious patty, great toppings and bun. The fries were also very good and a generous portion. My date had the Hot Grilled Chicken sandwich with onion rings, the chicken was hot and juicy, very good and the rings were a nice surprise. They’re just onion rings but these were perfect. Service was prompt and friendly, prices very fair. We were more than impressed by this place and will definitely be returning. I don't even want to give a 1 star. We stopped in to sit outside. They said pick a table so we did. We sat out there for 10 to 15 min waiting for someone to come outside so my man decided to go in and grab our drinks at the bar. We sat there for at least another 20 minutes waiting for someone to bring out menus for us which we watched other people getting their food served to them, which is fine. Then we saw a couple get walked out by a waiter and he immediately set up their table with menus and showed them the specials while we still never got acknowledged. 30 to 35 minutes of being ignored is disgusting. We just walked out and went elsewhere and were served immediately. I will NEVER...
