S & J's Diner — Restaurant in Town of Kentville

SORRY YOU HAVE TO CLICK A STAR IN ORDER TO POST...I DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY STARS..... The follow comment was from a very good friend and her daughter. I am posting this so that people will know that if you need to have electricity as a back up for your medical needs this business will not assist.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! Super pissed.... Please share away, Karissa and I went into s&j diner in Kentville to have breakfast, her machine chimes so I say to waitress, could we move over there so I could use plug in after waiting while she was chatting being patient I might add... , she said owner wouldn't like it, made a face I thought maybe she was kidding, so I said are you serious, oh yes she said.... So we got up and left... It's a feeding machine for an 11 year old with cancer, not a God damn cell phone, so mad as hell, being me went back in to see if owner wasn't there, she said oh you can plug in now, absolutely wouldn't give you 10 cents of my money, after treating Karissa...

I like this place a lot, and thus it's heartbreaking to know that it's so expensive. Check out my bill for a single cup of tea. $2.60! "Well, that's the same price as it is everywhere". No it's not.

I realize that the cost of food and pretty much everything else in the world has gone up in the past year or so, but $2.60 for a cup of tea is truly outlandish. You can buy a box of 120 teabags at the supermarket for a few dollars. Where is the cost of a cup of tea at S & J's coming from, the boiled water? The spot of milk?? My friend and I used to go in there in the evenings for a cup of tea and maybe a slice of pie or something, but no longer. It's just out of control now. $2.60 is simply too much. If you go there, say, four times a week you've just paid more than $10 in tea alone. I might as well go to Tim Horton's now. It's still $2.00 there, but at least you get more at...

I Used to Go There Often as I walked to work. Had a great waitress most of the time who even knew my order. However one time I went with a group of friends during the summer. From the second I walked in, the waitress eyed me down. I brushed it off but she later made smug comments to her co workers and glances. She said “they are bad kids”. We were all very respectful and calm and done nothing. I beileve I was racially profiled and she was strongly against teenagers. She carried out an argument with me as I left as she saw salt on the table and claimed “she wasn’t surprised”. This is extremely disappointing as I enjoyed the food and gave them lots of buisness. Unless you want to be harrassed and ridiculed, I do not recommend S & J’s diner. Haven’t been...
