McDonald's — Restaurant in Township of Langley

I’m sure we all understand how blown away a person has to be to write a 5 star review for a McDonalds of all places LOL so here goes

My fiancé and I popped by here on June 19th 2025 at 4:30pm, not even choosing the location because we wanted food, it’s because I needed a restroom break.

Since we didn’t want to use the restroom without being paying patrons, we ordered one cheeseburger for us each and a coffee. I went to the restroom first while my fiancé was ordering and then I came out shortly, but my fiancé was missing. The lovely lad (very tall, blond*?, looks like a rugby player) at the counter waved me over and told me that our food was ready upon seeing my confusion, which was so considerate because that means we get our food faster and it utilizes my time more efficiently, not to mention that the boy was attentive.

I wanted to get a sundae as well though, so I went to order that as I waited for my fiancé, and the jovial lad at the counter personally went to retrieve my sundae within 5 seconds of me paying, as in the sundae was in my hand 5 seconds later. I know that is what we would all think as standard, but I really cannot think of the last time it felt like a McDonald’s employee spoke to me as a customer rather than a task, because other branches are normally set up so there’s the cashier then the server for efficiency, so it feels more detached. However, that system can’t even compare to the speed I got my sundae, so the team at this branch is very on top of it, absolutely seamless teamwork between the front and back. Actually feels like McDonald’s went back to the 90s and prioritized the fast in fast food.

Ok, now we get to the burger. My fiancé and I needed to go so we ate in the car real quick, I wasn’t even paying attention to my burger at first but that thing DEMANDED my awe. There was actual WARMTH and FLAVOUR to my usually meek little value menu cheeseburger?? I swear McDonald’s cheeseburgers have all been so bland for the past long while that I’ve had them, like they’re thrown together with no seasoning, no balance, and no aroma since it’s always just lukewarm. I looked at the tiny burger in my hands and THE BUN. DO YALL REMEMBER THE LAST TIME YOU HAD A FLAWLESSLY SMOOTH BUN. I certainly don’t, it’s always wrinkly, sad, and smooshed. This burger, despite being parchment wrapped and not in a box, was smooth, shiny, and voluminous. This little thing served as a Time Machine back to my childhood as a 90s kid. Actually balanced, not too saucy, warm and toasty, visually appealing.

Bless the team here, thank you to the tall lad working the counter, thank you to whoever made or assembled my burger, thank you to whoever trained that team because they function seamlessly. I live in Richmond, the food capital of the lower mainland, and I go to fine dining establishments practically every other day to the point that nothing wows me anymore so I don’t write reviews for them. I would literally drive all the way to Aldergrove again for this McDonalds, of all places.

I have decided to come back and edit my original review that I wrote about a year ago for this McDonalds location.

I originally gave this McDonlads a one star review. I have left my original review at the bottom of this updated one.

My family and I actually did stop coming here. We were truly sick and tired of being treated so poorly.

Recently, we decided to give it a try again since so much time had passed. We were reluctant, but it was a convient location for us at the time we were out and gave it a try.

We were absolutely shocked at the difference!! Not only were we helped at the drive thru immediately, but they were polite, quick, professional, and respectful. Guess what? Our order was actually right! The food was hot, nicely packaged with care, the burgers weren't tossed together and we actually had a good experience.

We have since been back a few times with the same exceptional service and quality of food. We were blown away and to be honest, we were kind of in disbelief that they had actually done something to fix the ongoing issues.

I don't know what you guys did to fix this location, but it seems like everyone was fired and all new staff were hired. Way to go!

This location now is on par with the high quality customer service and consistent quality food and beverages that you would expect at any McDonalds.

"Every single time we come here, they mess up our order, slow service, nobody answering on one side of the drive thru, allowing other vehicles through before us that arrived after. Having to go back around all over again to retrieve our missing food ( which was an entire meal missing btw), was a hassle. Again, nobody answered the speaker, so we just went through. They wanted to see a receipt but they didn't give us one or ask if we wanted one. We showed them our food, which contained the order number slip. They then asked us several times what we were missing as if they were confused. It took us forever to get the food we were missing, making our food we just purchased pretty much cold now at this point. Enough is enough. We will not be coming back to this McDonald's as there always seems...

Cute little lobby. Horrible service. We made two separate orders at the kiosks early in the morning. One order took over ten minutes for a bacon egg mcmuffin and breakfast burritos. They brought the coffee out quickly and deleted our number from the monitor but we still waited the ten minutes for our food. This was better than my son's order. His number never appeared on the screen. We continued to wait and after five more minutes someone came out from the kitchen to see if he wanted to order something. He showed his receipt from 15 minutes ago and the employee said they already called the number numerous times. This was untrue. We were waiting there the entire time. She said someone else must have taken it. Not true again. There was one senior in the lobby who was exiting with his coffee and nothing else while we were still ordering. Eventually they refunded my son's money. The food from the first order was fine but we won't be returning. Admit there was a mistake. Things...
