Made the trip out to Langley to try out Moku Famous Hawaiian Barbecue last month (always looking for some Hawaiian eats in the Lower Mainland). The shop is in a newish development and has a light pastel interior with soft relaxing music playing (nice airy vibe). You order at the front counter. Prices are a bit expensive (but I guess that's getting to be the new normal). We tried the combo plate with barbecue chicken and kalua pork. Would have loved if they had laulau. The bbq chicken was good (would have liked a bit more char to the skin) and the slow roasted shredded pork was a generous serving. Underneath the pork was some veggies which sopped up all of the pork juices (so make sure you mix it up a bit before you eat to get all that flavour otherwise the top bits might seem kinda dry). The garlic shrimp was cooked in brown butter (seemed a bit overcooked for my preferences as I like the shrimp with more of a plump, snappy bite). The rice and mac salad for both plates were more on the "wet" side of things. Really liked the spam musubi. Some places use too much rice but this had a good ratio of spam to rice and it was warm and well moulded. With the mango lemonade and iced tea, the meal came out to about $50. More than enough food for us as we couldn't finish it all.

Just picked this up at 4:30pm and arrived home to share this with my toddler. lol I’m not sure what galbi means to them but I definitely thought it was short ribs and not just bone shavings. this piece of meat I’m holding in the photo is about 80% fat and it was the only piece of detached meat i could find in the box. All the pieces didn’t come with the bottom piece of meat. It was completely bones (except the 2.5 pieces on the right which shows what a normal piece of Galbi would look like) either you need to check with your source of meat or your staff need to stop taking bites from people’s food. 🥲🥲 Edit: just got off the phone to address the issue with the staff of the restaurant. She understood exactly what I was talking about with the meat being cheated. the owner took over the conversation and refused to compensate for what’s asked (50% of how much I paid for this galbi). His reason was “I’m a small business owner you left a negative review on my business”. According to him, every serving is weighted and that meat shrinks after it’s been cooked. Use your judgement photos here, hope you guys don’t get as lucky as me :) have a good day!

Came here with my family as my wife suggested this restaurant as we were heading to Langley for shopping. We missed the Hawaiian food when we were in Maui & Oahu a while back so was looking forward to this meal. This restaurant also have happy hour on weekdays from 2:00pm-4:00pm for 10% off all rice plates valid for dine in and take out. We ordered the Loco Moco and their combo plate with Kalua Pork and Spicy Mochiko Chicken that comes with 2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad. The Loco Moco was pretty good but we thought the burger patty was a little dry assuming they didn't use one that had more fat in it. The Kalua Pork was juicy and had excellent flavour however the Spicy Mochiko Chicken was a little disappointing as it was a lot saltier than spicy. The staff here were very friendly and the restaurant was pretty clean. Would come back here again to try some of their other food items.

I was super excited to find out of a Hawaiian BBQ house in BC so I rushed there the next day. Had been craving Loco Moco in which I happily ordered along with Spam Musubi for my son, his fave. I'm sad to make this review that the Loco Moco was a disappointment. The beef patties tasted like it came from boxed frozen foods, was a bit tough to slice and chew, lacked taste, and it didn't look cooked through inside. The Loco Moco combo does not come with macaroni salad so I had to additionally purchase it on the side. However, the serving size was good enough and the gravy sauce with mushrooms tasted pretty good, but the macaroni salad was bland...just tasted like macaroni with mayo, not enjoyable to eat. My son did LOVE and enjoy the Spam Musubi very much (i ordered 4). In his own words, "LOOOVED IT!! SO SO GOOD!" Unfortunately, I ended up with an upset stomach few hours after eating the food, so I tossed it. :(

The girl at the front was very friendly. The food was ready under 15 min after I placed order, which makes me wonder if this was freshly prepared??? Location is cute with other new small shops.

Overall, I really wanted to give a better review as I support new local businesses, especially that this place just newly opened. I would still encourage others to try this place and see for yourselves and hope you have a better...

Well would love to give a positive review, but first time I went there

The girl charge me 25 cents plus 1 penny for a bag, so 26 cents And refuse to give me the bag unless I have her 26 cents, Where do i get the penny, so I gave her 30 cents, and ask for the change, she said we have to call her boss,

Later that evening came back for three more meals, different lady thank god,and much more friendlier and on the ball

Today, January 25, 11:05am, went In to order, so ask her what the special was, she said none, ok looked at the menu in front of the counter and it states that YES the there is a special kaibi beef and its 17.50 not 18.95 It's not a big deal, So when I told her all she could say was, oh god not today!, even when I asked her to explain the special, all she was saying, oh not today, oh god not today,!!! Just looked at her and walked out, looks like she has serious issues that she cannot control

Wrong person at the wrong job Really, that's the service, she should be replaced with someone who cares, Cause they have a good product, and people talk but this person will discourage others from going there Obviously going to let others know Update, met with someone else who had a bad experience wirh that same person...
