Side Bar in theory could be great but it needs to work out a few crucial details. We stopped in for a bite to eat and some drinks . The drinks although quite expensive were very good. The food... This was the biggest let down and where it will make or break this new restaurant. Shrimp & Avo tacos : 2-3 overcooked shrimp with very little flavour. Mole Chicken - this was not a mole and should be changed in name or someone needs to learn how to make mole. It tasted like a burnt peanut butter with siracha. Veggie tacos - beans, yam and corn , not bad but nothing exciting . If they did like a pulled jackfruit it would be a bigger level up. The biggest issue with the tacos was the protein to lettuce ratio. 98% of the taco was a lettuce slaw. The blackened honey butter chicken- this was a travesty to chicken. It might have been left under a heat lamp for too long or the chef's hammered it on the grill for too long. The chicken was dry, hard to chew let alone swallow. The grits were so stuck they became a block of polenta. There was a raw half bell pepper which was awkward and out of place. The baked brie was good but needs more baguette in order to eat it sufficiently. Service: Server was very lovely but a bit off with timing. It did take quite some time to get our drinks, appies and mains. This may have been due to the kitchen but unsure. All in all if side bar fixes their kitchen issues ( might need a different chef or the chef needs more training ), and they get better timing down for front of house, this place could be a neighbourhood special. Their menu is fantastic but it needs to be executed to fit the vision.

Tried this restaurant as a friend had recommended it.Hands down 5 out of 5 for atmosphere, cleanliness, and staff friendliness etc. In fact the staff are so awesome, I almost did not write my review at all because the food was a big disappointment for me. However, perhaps my taste buds and the Executive chefs don’t align. We had the happy hour spinach and artichoke dip, chips were warm and the dip was nice, but nothing to write home about, milestones spinach and artichoke dip is a 1000 times better. My wife had the happy hour chicken tacos and she said it was an 8 out 10. I had two piece fish and chips. Portion was decent, but the fish was over fried and very, very salty. I tried to, but I just couldn’t eat it. This was a 1 out of 10, but I think something was off and it may not be meant to be like this. The Waitress was as awesome when I pointed it out and took it off our bill. I then ordered the Yakitori chicken and sesame noodle. For me, this dish was just okay. I found the chicken way too wet and saucy and the noodles were cold (they are meant to be this way) which I would have preferred hot. This was a 4 out of 10 for me. We will likely try this place out again in a few months and update the review at that time.

**Update** They say email them so they can make it right, but a week passes and it’s radio silent from their end. First review was 2 stars, but now updated to 1. If you don’t tend on making things right, don’t state that in the comments of your reviews to try and save face. Service was lacking. Sat us on the patio, sun blaring in our faces, didn’t offer to put the shades down. Then tried to order beer, turns out the menu is needing an update as they don’t have at least 4 of the beers on it. Had the calamari to start, this is the only reason it’s not 1 star. Calamari was delicious, crispy with lots of flavour. Then came the mains- Fish and chips had way too much batter, outside was extremely overcooked, inside was mushy as the batter was too thick. Chicken on the chicken and waffles was lacking breading. My drink was empty for about 10 mins before offered a refill, water never got refilled. Finished eating, plates were removed and showed the waiter the soggy battered fish, he said he would let the kitchen know. 20 mins had passed, empty drinks on the table, card to signify we were ready to go, no sign of a bill or waiter. Finally had to flag him down to get the bill.

Great vibe, friendly staff, no too noisy, comfortable seats!! First time dinning there celebrating Birthday meal for family member . Jessica our sever was genuinely friendly. We enjoyed our short chats with her. The drinks were amazing! They were not watered down. They were very flavorful. The best we’ve had! Lemon pepper Calamari!!! So good, zesty dip! Awesome!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Blackened Prawn and avocado tacos were ok. I’m not a fan of the flour tortillas, they were cold. Overall, not too much flavour and while I’m one to eat the bottled spicy sauce, Valentina save had to be added for flavour. Spinach salad was good, chicken, egg, the usual. Not too much dressing, which I don’t mind, but a bit more would have been better. Since it was a birthday, we ordered the Mexican chocolate with chili cake… take out as we were full from dinner, however, when we go home, it turned out to be a huge carrot muffin with chocolate drizzle on top. We were disappointed. Since it was gifted, I’m glad we didn’t pay for it. I would go back again for sure! Even if it’s for the calamari again Thank you to all the staff! You’re all wonderful

manager is super lost, doesn’t know how to run a restaurant at all and unhelpful, rude & passive. Food is mediocre at best and chefs do not want to do any customizations to orders and constantly complain and roll their eyes at these requests. Staff aren’t treated very well, and there is constantly new staff. Understaffed when very busy and completely over staffed when not busy. Also there was a huge toilet flood in the restaurant and they kept letting customers in… extremely unsanitary! There was water gushing from the mezzanine down into the restaurant floor and if the party had not left under the upper floor 5 mins earlier… they would’ve been soaked. And then they still let guests in for drinks in order to make more $ instead of getting the situation under control and calling a professional cleaner/plumber they had staff cleaning it up, while customers dined in a restaurant with unusable bathrooms and dirty toilet water everywhere. The cherry on top, a rat floating in the dirty toilet water. DO BETTER‼️ this is a health hazard. All the while the manager is running around clueless and useless.

Went in for a quick lunch after seeing the restaurant on tiktok. The restaurant itself looks to be set up well, and the outdoor seating is great as it is heated. We were seated quickly. The menu is extensive, as is the happy hour menu. We ended up getting a sangria and a zero proof drink. We did find a fruit fly in the sangria. Also, I got the fish tacos off the happy hour menu. It's a little bit on the wet side but still above average taste. For mains, we got the chicken sandwich and a steak. I ordered the steak to be medium rare, and it was definitely overcooked. The corn was over seasoned, and the potatoes tasted like they had been boiled with no seasoning. Not what you would expect when paying as much as you do for the steak. I think the waiter forgot about us near the end as we finished our meal and waited for 10/15mins for the bill so eventually ended up just walking inside and paying as we exited. Menu looks to be interesting so maybe I'll give it a try again but my expectations are low.
