Sea it Eat it…

It’s nice they opened up this second location at the new Latimer Village along 200th Street. The parking in the plaza is a bit tight but there is street parking available.

The interior is quite spacious with a very classy modern decor and look. I would say its interior layout and appearance is a notch up from its Coquitlam location, giving diners a comfortable dining experience for all occasions.

Ever since they first opened, I have been here a few times, this is what I ordered the last time I was here;

Miso soup (complimentary). Nice and hot but pretty basic. Real crab sunomono. Nice flavour and the noodle had a nice texture, just wish the crab meat were more whole and chunky. Spider roll . It’s okay, pretty standard soft shell crab roll. Asparagus bacon kushiyaki and okra kushiyaki. They were okay, goes good with sake. Oyster motoyaki. Nice little char on top and quite fresh and tasty. Seafood Yaki udon. Not bad but I personally would like the green onions cooked to enhance the flavours and aroma. Dragon special roll. It’s okay, all the ingredients were well balanced. Chopped scallops and uni nigiris. Very fresh and tasty, got to love them unis. Swordfish, Akami, albacore toro, chu toro, O- toro nigiris. They were very fresh and beautiful in colours. The butteriness accompanied by the well seasoned rice gave that foodgasmic taste. Loved it! Deluxe sashimi platter. Everything was fresh and tasty with a nice presentation. (Request the amaebi heads to be deep fried before eating platter)

Overall, I tried pretty much most of the sushi places in the Langley area (except Yugafu…) I would have to say this new location is the finer one of them that offers a larger variety of items plus the specialty fishes. The seafood was very fresh and everything was tasty.

The classy and comfortable layout of the restaurant makes the dining experience more enjoyable too.

I appreciate the fine services here more than the Coquitlam location. The servers and staffs here were very welcoming, friendly and attentive (a notch up from the Coquitlam location).

Always a repeat for me and certainly a recommendation by me if in the area looking for good sushi and...

This is by far the best sushi place in Langley, and one of the best in BC. I am extremely picky when it comes to sushi - I’ve tried any and everything from the most highly rated omakase to almost every sushi restaurant in Langley (and more than I can count in other cities as well). Kai’s sushi is comparable to some of the most high-end sushi restaurants in Vancouver, and may I say it’s better than half of them, if not more. The fish is exactly as fresh as it should be, the rice is perfectly done, and you can tell that their standards are extremely high when it comes to sourcing their fish (both locally and internationally). I truly hope that they maintain the high standards they have set in the coming years. I can finally say that I have a favourite sushi spot in my area - one with lovely service, a welcoming interior, exceptional cleanliness, and some of the freshest fish I’ve had. For reference, I have tried most (80%) of their nigiri’s, a few regular rolls, a few different types of sashimi, and a few appies. Incredibly happy with everything from top to bottom - keep it up ☺️ (Also, I do not have many photos since we’ve been unable to let our phones eat first lately....

Kai Japanese Restaurant in Langley is the second location of a well-loved sushi restaurant, with the original branch based in Port Coquitlam. It has now been over two years since this Langley location opened. Personally, I prefer to leave reviews long after a restaurant opens. In the early stages, many places tend to offer excellent food and service as they aim to attract new customers. However, maintaining that quality consistently over time is what truly defines a great restaurant. In that regard, Kai Sushi Langley has continued to impress me even after two years, which is genuinely commendable.

From the moment you walk in, the high ceilings and spacious layout create a bright and open atmosphere. Tables are well-spaced, offering a sense of privacy during meals. One standout feature is the transparent kitchen window, allowing customers to see how the food is prepared. The kitchen appears meticulously clean and well-maintained, which is especially reassuring for a restaurant that specializes in fresh seafood. The tables are generously sized, and the seating is both comfortable and clean—giving off a fine-dining impression despite being a local spot.

The menu is impressively diverse, ranging from appetizers and sushi to hot kitchen dishes. It can be hard to decide what to try first! Personally, I enjoy the Beef Tataki and Spicy Ebi Mayo from the appetizer menu. When it comes to sushi, the Deluxe Sashimi Platter is my go-to choice—served beautifully with a generous variety of fresh, high-quality sashimi. On days when I’m in the mood for a warm comfort meal, I opt for the Chicken Teriyaki or Curry Tonkatsu—both hearty, flavorful, and reminiscent of a home-cooked dish.

There’s even a hidden value deal: if you order the Japanese Ramen, you can add 8 pieces of Chicken Karaage for just $4. It’s a fantastic combo that offers great value for money. Of course, there are many other delicious items on the menu worth exploring as well.

I continue to visit regularly and plan to keep coming back. It's a real pleasure to have such a high-quality sushi restaurant right here in Langley. I sincerely hope Kai Sushi continues to thrive and be appreciated by even more people. This review reflects my honest impressions from numerous visits over time.

This Japanese restaurant is amazing. Offering quality food that’s fresh and enjoyable. Watch out for the spice in the agedashi tofu! It was more than I could handle (higher than your regular “medium” IMO). The space is totally new, just a few days old, so everything is immaculate. There’s lots of space and plenty of seating. I enjoyed the decor, with the wood panels and variety of textures. The service was excellent; very attentive, accommodating and amiable. I made a reservation over the phone and the lady was very helpful. Their prices are a bit higher than most of the Japanese restaurants in the area. However, the portions were larger and more filling, in proportion to what you pay for. We over-ordered thinking that the portions were what we were used to and ended up leaving full with an entire roll boxed up. We enjoyed a decent glass of red as well. Great job! We’ll be returning for certain.
